“same here. i think if i had four other siblings who were the same age as me i would be overwhelmed.” aeri chuckled as she thought of her dynamic with her younger sister. knowing how that was, she was certain that having more siblings would most likely result in her being the “forgotten” older sibling. “yeah, i’m not sure how long they’ve been sleeping, but i think they woke up because they were hungry.” aeri reasoned, although there was a bit of hesitation in her voice as she hoped that her assumption was right. if it wasn’t…well, they were going to find out in a couple of minutes or hours.
searching around for the bottles, she agreed with areum. “unpredictable may be an understatement…i don’t know if it’s better to have some of them asleep or have all of them be awake.” she tried imagining the two hypothetical scenarios in her mind and was uncertain which one she would have preferred personally. as she slowly stood up, she said out loud, “let me find the bottles. it should be nearby… i think.” hoping that what she was looking for was within close proximity, aeri took a few steps to see if it was placed on the wooden table where she had seen some of the items that they might need as the day progressed. “bottles…” she murmured softly as she continued looking before spotting the colorful bottle caps and taking two of them from the table.
“i didn’t check earlier, but do these puppies have names?” aeri asked innocently as she handed areum one of the two bottles she was holding. “if they don’t have names, maybe we can give them nicknames while taking care of them?” she suggested while thinking about what they could do in between periods like this when some of them were awake.
" well, " areum hums, moving closer to the puppies – trying very hard to contain her excitement. " i guess we'll just have to see, huh ? " she chuckles. she didn't know exactly how this day was going to go, but it couldn't be that bad, given what they were tasked with, right ?
areum hums again, considering – " they're about three weeks, right ? " she asks, although she's pretty sure she's remembering correctly. " i think it depends on how curious they've gotten, " she coos, taking a seat close to the absolute pile of puppies – two of which were moving about, but didn't yet seem aware areum or aeri were there. " it does look like they've opened their eyes, " she notes, although still unsure if they were going to be curious enough to wander over quite yet.
" they do ! oh, you're gonna love this, " areum whisper-shouts, taking the bottle from aeri. " they named the litter after types of cheeses, " areum says, chuckling lightly. " if i remember correctly – oh, look, here they come – " areum hums, reaching out as it seemed the puppies had finally noticed the two women and began stumbling over their siblings and themselves to greet them – areum can't help but coo.
" okay – ugh they're just so cute – okay, if i remember correctly, these two look like they're brie and colby jack, " she explains, pointing at each of the puppies respectively – precisely as the puppy she's pretty sure is colby jack begins attempting to climb into her lap. " aww, aren't you so happy to have company ? " she asks, voice still low as to not to bother the sleeping puppies. " they're so cute; have i told you i have really bad cuteness aggression ? " she chuckles. " how can i survive, look at these little faces ? "
