do you ever get so annoyed at everything that you start to get pissed off at even little things like a spoon clinking against a bowl or sounds of people talking
I think it’s called sensory overload. It’s really common in people with anxiety
it can also be a result of sleep deprivation, stress, or ever dehydration !!
thanks i thought i was just a bitch
For all American grad students who get tuition waivers.
This is extremely important for you to be aware of. Please spread the word.

Hey IDK if national news is covering this since there’s so many other terrible things going on, but the entire West Coast is on fire right now
There are currently 74 wildfires burning in the western United States, many of them are approaching heavily populated cities such as Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, and Los Angeles. The La Tuna fire is now officially the brush fire in LA history. Air quality warnings are being issued across the entirety of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. I’m in Portland, about 40 miles out from the nearest wildfire, and it’s raining ash and difficult to breathe due to the haze.
If you live anywhere near these fires, you’ve probably heard this by now, but please be safe. Stay indoors if at all possible and keep windows closed. Keep pets indoors as well. Hopefully some of our trademark Portland rain will come soon to help minimize the damage.
Yeah y'all I live here and it’s goddamn awful I can barely breathe when I walk outside
I’m in Idaho and the air quality is terrible, I can’t go outside and see past 40 feet in front of me. I’m only 20 or so miles away from one of these fires and they told us every animal has to be inside.
im in washington and my city is currently covered in a haze of smoke and ash is falling from the sky its awful
It is downright Apocalyptic outside right now. It’s 90 degrees, smells like a sauna or a tire fire and ir’s fucking humid on top of the orange light through the smoke and the ash falling like snow.
Extreme rainfall has led to devastating floods across Nepal, India, and Bangladesh, killing nearly 1,200 people and displacing millions.

imo he was being super salty about that tendency guys have to blame their anatomy for their bad choices
it’s like “oh i don’t want to be a creepo but my dick has a mind of its own” “well here’s a scissors fix your life”
or maybe, you know, have some damn respect, and don’t pretend you don’t have a choice of whether to be nasty
i think people have a tendency to take jesus literally when he was actually throwing shade, or to take things in this really smarmy martyrish way when they’re actually pretty snippy
i mean “turn the other cheek” sounds like being a doormat until you picture how it would play out: someone smacks you, and you turn and go “do it again, go on, take a swing buddy, does that make you feel better, do you feel like a winner now?” cuz you know what 90% of the time they will get curled up shame toes and shuffle off
tl;dr: no jesus did not actually want you to take a spoon to your eyeballs for babe watching, he wanted you to take responsibility for how you treat people
All of the actions Jesus told his followers to perform are actually passive-aggressive actions meant to oppose and resist Jerusalem’s Roman colonizers. Like, turning the other cheek is actually a matter of forcing the Roman to either break proper slapping etiquette or to hit you properly- thereby treating you as an equal instead of someone he’s subjugating. If a debtor is taking all your possessions in court, you include the shirt off your back so his greed is causing you to commit public nudity. And when a soldier forces you to carry his equipment (as per the law of the time), you go the extra mile with him- literally carrying his bag beyond the distance that the law stipulates and therefore making the action illegal.
Context matters.
Jesus was a radical, rebellious, snarky twentysomething. Always remember that.

i scrolled passed this several times before actually reading it. i’m not used to two white men talking sense…
Alton Brown is no fucking joke a legend.
Alton Brown definitely is a Culinary genius. I go to Culinary school and on assignments where I studied Southern cuisine I made a serious point to call it Soul Food or Black Southern Cuisine and emphasize that it’s entirely rooted in the black culture and slavery. I will never let ppl forget it is black people who educated white Americans to cook. There is a lot of of culture appropriation and whitewashing even in Culinary and they will have you believe whites are the masters of Southern food and Korean BBQ I swear ta gawd.
