when you make a roleplay blog for a canon character, you are signing up to put your own spin on that character.
you know what that means? it means you don’t steal headcanons from other roleplayers of the same muse as you.
roleplayers work hard on headcanons – they develop a character beyond canon and that’s really important. and you have no right to waltz in and take someone else’s hard work and use it yourself.
if you see a headcanon that you like, think ‘okay, but how could it be interpreted differently?’ this way, you’re not stealing anything, and you’ve come up with your own idea to share with the world. plus, people don’t want to follow two different blogs and get the same portrayal – they want to see variety in how one muse can be portrayed.
if you love a headcanon so much that you don’t want to let it go, politely ask the roleplayer who came up with it if you can use it. if they say no, then you don’t use it. end of story. sorry. if they say yes, then please credit them somewhere on your blog! they deserve to be recognised for their good ideas.
TL;DR: DON’T STEAL OTHER PEOPLE’S HEADCANONS.
