The United States medical system is in dire fucking distress. It doesn’t work. It straight up does not work. The idea of for-profit medicine is antithetical to the purpose of medicine. Every part of the United States medical system is soaked in bureaucracy, racism, misogyny, ableism, classism and greed to maximize profits. It kills patients. It kills providers. It kills nurses. And it is only getting worse, not better, worse. Instead of admitting this and working to fix it, a not insignificant percentage of the population has adopted a “If you’re sick, it’s a moral failing.” attitude and started capitalizing on useless fucking supplements and whatever the villainized food of the day is.
