Neji didn’t die for hinata he impaled himself on a spike to escape from having to be in boruto
You either die in shippuden or live long enough to be in boruto
ポンチョスケ×最終回見送りナル
体格差あるサスナル良き…
Why did sasuke kiss him so hard late last friday night and keep on letting him change all his plans
but wait remember when sasuke told sakura not to tell naruto about the curse mark because he didn’t want naruto to worry about him
You're so right about Sasuke's love for Naruto. Fandom is super weird abt that, like I was just reading a fic that has Sasuke only realizing he wants to be with Naruto after he begins dating Hinata (and then Sakura punching him for "choosing that creep over your teammates," but that's such a staple of victim blaming in fics that I'm not surprised). Another one that was more of the same, w the addition of Sasuke repenting for being a "mass murderer" and Naruto having to be convinced to be w him.
Yeah exactly it’s always like this, sasuke is a crazy smelly murderer who naruto needs to nurse back to health. It’s simultaneously character assassination for him and also leads to bizarre writing where it’s like…why would naruto, or anyone, like this bitchy charmless tsundere who puts zero work into their dynamic and just pines hysterically for his attention. It’s boring, canon sasuke is all about naruto. Even at his most unstable, selfish, and sadistic, he legitimately cannot stop thinking about naruto. When he’s sitting at the cliff and naruto’s image abruptly pops into his head, disrupting his entire thought process, when he tells obito to wait so he can stand there and listen to naruto talk…thats my shit
I have to say I’m genuinely shocked at fandom’s perception of sasuke, sasuke and Naruto’s relationship, and the way people managed to take a ship that is village sweetheart x anti-establishment criminal and turn it into this like…cringey, sasuke is apparently a fragile mentally unstable mess that naruto needs to take care of shit, based entirely off of them being yin/yang? Which ftr does not mean submissive/dominant.
Here’s a few tropes that pop up repeatedly that i dont understand, frankly:
- “sasuke is shy” he’s really not. He’s quiet and self contained, but he has no trouble speaking his mind and needs no one’s validation except itachi’s (and i could write paragraphs on that abusive fucked up relationship) and sometimes Naruto’s - the person he is basically unofficially canonically in love with. Case in point, he announces he’s going to be hokage with zero fucks given as to what the Konoha 11 have to say about it, in contrast to naruto whose baseline motivation for 90% of the series, basically until he meets Nagato, is to win love and acknowledgement from essentially everyone
- “naruto is forward, sasuke is not” wrong. Sasuke actually does not deny their bond, and grows out of his tsundere phase much faster than naruto. He acknowledges their bond at the valley of the end. He even acknowledges it at their final battle. He says ‘quit your yapping, i know your feelings, you know mine’.’ Naruto’s brain short circuits because he doesn’t understand how sasuke can admit to his feelings easily, but still want to fight him based on their differing ideologies/the threat naruto poses to his worldview, because unfortunately he never really grows out of his ‘every conflict is the result of misunderstanding/loneliness/lack of love’ mentality
- related to the last point: naruto actually is clearly slower on the uptake of ‘this is not a normal friendship bond’ than sasuke is, considering sasuke is the one who keeps questioning him and even asks eventually, so what tf do you mean by ‘you’re my friend’
- “sasuke was in the darkness and needed to be saved by naruto” this is what the show pushes, and it’s true to an extent. Sasuke was in a lot of pain and the only person who saw past his ruthlessness and coldness, who tried to empathize and offered affection when everyone else turned their backs, was naruto. In that way, naruto does save him
But this is frequently exaggerated in fandom to the point where sasuke comes off as a complete basket case while naruto is his stable, loving boyfriend who has his shit together, and it’s so obnoxious
Sasuke was right on multiple points, despite the series ceaseless efforts at depicting him as irrational. The Kages are responsible for their current shit circumstances, and are all either enabling the system or directly responsible for it. Bijuu are demons that have slaughtered countless people - they really dont need to exist, and it’s insane that naruto wants them alive because they are his ‘friends’.
Sasuke is right that the elders are not the only ones responsible for the Uchiha massacre, and that the average Konoha civilian who bought into prejudice contributed, even if he takes this too far in his rage and grief. He is right that being a leader isn’t about just being acknowledged - it’s also about being someone who is willing to endure hatred and sacrifice reputation in order to maintain peace.
The most natural conclusion to both their arcs would be a compromise, tbh. But sadly this was a shounen anime to its core, and despite his uniqueness as an anime rival in many ways, sasuke still had to ‘lose’ in some way to solidify naruto as a hero.
Tldr; version of this is that portraying naruto as more dominant, more correct, more solid, more reliable, more emotionally honest party actually misses nuances in both their characters, is ooc, and honestly makes it an entirely different ship. Theirs is a relationship of give and take.
Side note, I’m glad sasuke never returned to Konoha. It would really mean the death of his character if he decided to stay after all, it’s the last bit of agency his character was allowed and a much better conclusion than naruto, who is trapped in an obviously loveless marriage and hates his life lmao
i love how nobody asks you why you think naruto's dark skinned w the whole naruto with an afro icon as well like i must laguh.
lol there’s really clearly reasons why naruto’s “allowed” to be brown and sasuke isn’t when they’re basically the same shade in canon… almost as if there’s specific stereotypes that they assign to these characters! this fandom legit thinks sasuke’s too good to be brown lmfao u never see this kind of outrage over characters like gai, naruto, or sakura being drawn w brown skin
hold up bro. u lay down like.. on the ground like close ur eyes real quick ok. cool. convenient that it’s raining lol these tears could be real or fake. k now I’m gonna. I’m gonna look at u n get .. we’re not kissing bro I’ll just get close and look longingly at u.. as the rain drips down my face onto ur ugly ninja forehead protector ..

Sasuke stans always go on about how Sasuke is female coded or whatever. So lemme talk in their language.
Naruto is the only one out of the two to actually be a woman. He meticulously developed his female body as response to trauma. He adapts and changes his female persona throughout the series. He is the only one out of the two that actually experiences childhood sexual abuse in the canon text.
There's a lot of talk about how the exploitation and obsession with Sasuke's body is proof of his position as a female. With that logic, is Naruto not the same? Even more so because he literally is female in the series and is exploited for it.
If you want hermeneutics or whatever like Sasuke stans like to analyze his character so they can make him the most feminized, victimized, submissive character in Naruto, then let's talk about how the whole premise of the series is the exploitation of Naruto's body.
His body is a host for the future of Konoha. Of the whole universe actually. He literally contains life inside his belly. His ability to host life is the reason for his victimization and trauma. He is hunted, imprisoned, shamed and ostracized, treated as a second class citizen. All because he is able to host life inside himself. The pregnancy metaphor and imagery is ripe for the picking.
Let's talk about how Sasuke violates Naruto's boundaries. Violates his body. He literally goes inside him. Sasuke stans are so quick to label anything rape and abuse. Is that not rape by their standards? Similar to how Kylo Ren rapes Rey's mind.
Sasuke's whole thing about reviving his clan. He does so by impregnating Sakura. He is a breeder. He is positioned as the Man. The one who will use his literal seed for his legacy.
I can go on and on. If you're going to apply a frame of analysis to Sasuke's character for your own deeply seated kinks and fetishes, well.
