Neolithic cave art was and will always be a pinnacle of human achievement. A lot of it was actually a calendar that tracked animal herd migrations by tying them to observable lunar cycles.

One of my favorite history facts is that the person who figured this out was just some old guy who was really into Neolithic cave art as a hobby.
