We got asked if this is cute and okay. I can very happily say yes, this is stupid cute and those are happy porcupine noises. 

One of my favorite things about doing zoo work was all the noises you never realize the animals make when they’re excited or interested in a new thing. Coatimundis squeak and snuffle, and giant porcupines make that sound.

Quarantine has its advantages...

Such as doing a lot of reading, research and self discovery. Although, what I had hoped to accomplish was impressive... what I actually learned was so much more life altering! My research lead me to support groups, who pointed me to some great books to dive into. I also found a therapist, who is working with me diligently and with so much patience. While it isn't their area of expertise, through reading the suggested books we have come to the same conclusion. I am working towards a professional diagnosis with a psychologist, but we think that I am a high-functioning autistic. It was a huge bomb, which has led to a LOT of crying. Not because I'm sad. It's relief and joy and an overwhelming sense of understanding. My whole life makes SO much more sense. I'm sorry for such a long post after being absent for so long. But it feels good to get it all out there.
