i cannot stress how difficult it is for me to care about or grow attached to male protagonists anymore. its possible but the average male protagonist is in a game that cannot even begin to fathom women as people with equally complex inner worlds and i just cant stand it
*sends out email I've been putting off* ah finally :). ah that's a weight off my shoulders :). ah I can relax an-- *receives response to email* what the fuck. what the fuck. what the fuckkkk
“i asked chatgpt” okay well i asked phil lester and he blatantly lied to me but he looked beautiful doing it

always remember that adhesive labels can sense your fear and hesitation when you are removing them
Will websites implode on themselves if they don’t move the buttons around every month or what
When I was in high school we did an english unit on Octavia Butler and the teacher told us hey btw. You should call her "Butler" in your essays. Sometimes students call female writers by their first names unconsciously, but that's not acceptable. If you wouldnt call them William or Ernest you shouldn't call her Octavia.
And I was like cool whatever I was gonna call her Butler anyways. But that moment has stuck with me for my whole life because once you start seeing ppl calling women by their first names where men would be called by their last names you literally never stop seeing it.
I had a professor once who was NB but presented to the uninitiated as a cis lesbian, and therefore was often misgendered, of course. And once before our class started I overheard a student behind me really fumble their pronouns, and then complain about the existence of they/them pronouns in general and how confusing they were. And I swear something came over me and I saw red and turned around in my seat and straight up was like, "If you can't bother trying to overcome your transphobia, perhaps it would be easier to work on your misogyny and refer to them as DOCTOR Smith, as I have heard you do with all of the cis male art history professors in the department with doctorate degrees."
and anyway sometimes it was a bit awkward after that but I never heard anyone in the class refer to them as anything other than "Dr. Smith" again.
The standoff with agents happened on Jan. 8, one day after an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Good in south Minneapolis. Wooten’s refusal to comply with ICE was captured on video and posted to Facebook.
The agents tried everything to intimidate the guard.
“You can’t come back here, bro,” Wooten can be heard in the video saying to an agent wearing a mask and sunglasses. “I’m talking to your manager,” the agent said. Wooten responded: “No, you’re talking to security, I’m in charge.”
ICE left empty-handed. Wooten said he just stood his ground, “10 toes down.”
“I was doing my job like I’m supposed to,’’ Wooten said. “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. I just want to make my family safe because I’ve been here three years.”

damn. I can’t even point out the factually correct statement that boys and men are disproportionately affected by brain-eating amoeba infections without being called a misandrist and a bioessentialist. I don’t think men have a biological imperative to swim in infected water, I think we live in a society that teaches young boys that safety is for pussies and you should be willing to do gross stuff because that is what makes you a boy. I vividly recall having to go out to feed the dog as a kid and doing it barefoot, being disgusted by the slimy algae feeling of the damp brick porch and my dad laughing at me and essentially telling me I can’t be a man because I thought it was icky and expressed disgusted.
man having your life even a little bit together will really make you realize how chronically sleep-deprived and poorly fed and under-enriched everyone is and then when they turn to you to implicitly agree that that's just the natural state of existing you feel like the asshole for being like "actually I think you might benefit from eating breakfast regularly and picking up a new hobby"
sorry for [remembering a tumblr post about expressing gratitude instead of apologising to make the interaction more positive for the other person] i mean thank you for having a boyfriend who was so easy to run over withmy car and reverse over three times maybe four
i still do not understand what possessed so many well-respected actors to do the spy kids movies like
did they pay really well? did you want these beautiful, terrible movies to be a blemish on your career forever?? why
antonio banderas did so many high-profile movies then in spy kids he looked like this
tony shalhoub has won multiple emmys but he did spy kids and
even fucking george clooney wtf
steve buscemi is pretty goofy but still
salma hayek’s pigtails in this wow
elijah wood was the lead in a movie that’s tied for the largest number of oscars of all time and he played a character creatively named “THE GUY”
sylvester stallone is like a cultural icon and he played not one but FOUR ridiculously dressed weirdos
alan cumming is the only one i can understand
The films were made by Robert Rodriguez who’s mostly known for gritty dramas like Sin City. His film From Dusk Til Dawn is credited with kick starting George Clooney and Salma Hayek’s movies careers. Almost all of the big names in the movies are people he’d become friends with while working on previous projects. He built a studio in his home so these films could be made quickly and cheaply, which meant the cast was basically signing up to hang out at a friend’s house for a few weeks and do some fun acting
Kids don’t care about production value, you can make big bucks off a cheaply made kids movie as long as the story appeals to the kids and there’s something to draw in adults. The big name actors drew in parents so they’d spend money on the movies and let their kids watch them on repeat, and kids loved the stories. Each movie was made for $40 million or less and the franchise earned over half a billion dollars. The actors got big paydays for a small amount of work with a director they love
It’s also, every decision in the entire first 3 movies was made on the premice of “is it fun? Is it funny? Does it bring joy?” And it shows.
are you ever scrolling through tumblr and you have a thought and immediately lose it so you have to scroll back up to give your brain the conditions under which it originally created the thought so you can bring it back
