Oh, I mean these cuties right here:
Colonel Jack OâNeill and (then) Major Samantha Carter of Stargate SG-1.Â
Their chemisty was off the charts on day numero uno, and only deepened from there. Trouble is, the USAF was heavily involved in production, and as such they were (rightfully) adamant that Sam and Jack never get together, because theyâre in the same chain of command and Jack is Samâs boss.
What that means is that whatever we got between them was either subtext or context.
See that top gif ^^? Their memories were wiped and they were enslaved in an underground mining facility. They couldnât remember that they werenât supposed to be together. They regain their memories at the end of the episode.
Groundhog day time loop. Jack waits until the last minute of his very last loop, hands in his resignation, and dips Carter into a kiss. It might look like some early aughts dubcon right there, but in context itâs the episode immediately following their off-the-record love confessions, and also Carter is clearly into it.
Alternate Timeline! Sam never joined the military, and Jack never un-retired, which means theyâre free to bone to their heartâs content in a desert a million lightyears from home.
And not even last, but certainly not least:
Good old-fashioned concussion hallucination!
This doesnât even get into the *little* moments, such as:

And this is just barely scratching the surface. I know what you must be thinking: so much content! but NO. Over ten years of content, ten years of cute smiles and absolute trust, and speaking without words and no confirmation.Â
Trust meâ a few annual ship days in and the content runs out real fast, let me tell you. Whenever anyone accuses me of hating all hetero ships, I point them to this ship, as proof I like them when theyâre done right.Â
And by right apparently I mean 10 years of canon slow burn and no payoff.
