Photographed and edited on an iPhone with a remote shutter. I like to use natural light and everyday objects to create the viewpoints: door handles, fireplaces, window ledges - whatever the room will let me get away with. I’m learning photography in reverse. First, making the photos. Then learning what influenced them and who has done this before. Nudity is a common theme in my photos, but nudity is not the point. There’s a balance between confidence and vulnerability, and there are the emotions we show and the emotions we hide - for me, the viewer becomes the one who decides which of these they see. I continue to find inspiration from great artists such as Duane Michals, Helmut Newton, Bill Brandt and Robert Mapplethorpe, along with the countless creators of photos, scenes, poses and visual stories I find on here. This is a part of my fractured identity: it’s either art, or it’s nothing.
