Yes. I still don't understand the choice to overlook everything while nearly everyone who shed tears for her, who performed grief for her...escorted her directly to her demise. Apathy is the total opposite of love. The society in this universe descending into mass suffering and chaos was a self-inflicted fate, sealed when they all chose to perform a false, hollow, sitcom version of human decency over actually being decent human beings. Sarah Palmer, I'm lookin at yew, Scum Queen. Her ending was a highlight of The Return. Consumed by grief, regret, and crushed by the weight of her choice to enable demonic Leland's rapist ass over her young daughter. This shit happens so often in real life, that it's odd when people respond to it in a healthy way.

What a heart-breaking narrative. Captured with an unmatched attention to detail by David Lynch and everyone involved.
