Rejoice Ladies!
Loved reading this article about âHow to Drink Beer Like a Lady.â As the first sentence proclaimed, the âBeerded Ladies are out to undo craft beerâs reputation as a boyâs gameâ and are doing a nice job of introducing more women to beer. Â
Basic knowledge of beer is a great start, but I think the key is to educate women (and men) that beer really pairs with food better than a lot of wines do. Take a BLT for example, what sort of wine would you drink with that? A good dark lager would be a great beer choice! Some might think beer is too heavy, but beer and bread both have similar properties that can be brought out by malt (the dark in the dark larger). Bacon is savory and fatty, which beer can both complemented and cut but the alcohol (which can cut the mayo too). A lighter beer, like a lager, wonât drown the lettuce or tomato either. Â
Bottom line is that there are a lot of interesting beers to try, and women shouldnât be shy about doing tastings. It is typically less expensive than a glass (let alone a bottle) of wine, too!
