''when did we all become so performative'' idk man when the threat of being recorded at any time and posted for milions to see without your knowledge became normalised.
“Winter light shining like grief in your hair, black as the wing of a crow, and like joy. The old year dying around us then; the weather all bright wind, wild and clear.”
— Cecilia Woloch, ‘New Year’, in Narcissus
"you have an anxiety disorder" it's actually called being a bunny and it is perfectly normal and healthy for me to be like This !!
Everyone is nostalgic and no one is sincere. Do you get the idea
Reboots made by people that don’t respect what they’re rebooting. Punching down before buzz feed listicles punch first. Isn’t it weird that the princess married the prince after just meeting him? Isn’t it cringe that magic exists? Irony poisoning of childhood classics. Well that just happened humour. Say something true and beautiful or I will start throwing rocks

I'm a UX Designer and this Wi$h Li$t contract has some of the darkest pattern I've ever seen. I hope this is what ends her. I'm so, so, so disgusted.
You're supposed to think this is a normal wish list you make to give to your family and friends. Just in time for the holidays. Cute and harmless. Oh, maybe Taylor will even send you something herself. She's done it before, right?!
"Create your holiday WI$H LI$T of your favorite products..." Okay, sure. Sounds good.
Oh. Okay. Some tiny text in a tiny frame. You don't need to read that. That's fine. Just put your name and click 'Continue'. Cool, the button works even if you didn't read all that!
Uh oh. You just gave up all your rights. If Taylor Swift and anyone she works with want to make a deep fake of you, they legally can.
You'll never even know they did that. :)) Cool, cool.
And if you die while doing anything related to Taylor Swift, (like going to her concert...) nobody can do anything about it. Yeah, that's great. :)))
Huh. Where is this wish list now that you thought you were making??
Edit because some people take issue with the last part: I have been in courts myself and experienced first hand how lawyers can twist things in ways that suit them. So in my understanding the phrase, "in any related activity," would include things like going to her concert. If you read it differently, that's fine. But there's no need to act like I'm maliciously making things up when I have many years of experience reading legal texts and genuinely understand it this way.

i did need to see some flower cows, now i shall share it with the moots :)
at the end of the day, the thing is that Taylor Swift is a billionaire and billionaires are so far removed from any sense of humanity and humanity is what makes art.
without any connection to humanity, nothing created by a billionaire will have any creative value or value whatsoever.
it won’t make an impact. it won’t mean a thing.
what could a billionaire possibly have to say that would move you? that would move anyone? what experience does a billionaire have that would contribute to good art?
humanity is what drives art. full stop.
once you have that much money you lose your humanity.
you lose your ability to make art.
also maybe don’t call a woman of color a dog? just saying.
watching 20 year old tv shows is all fun and games until you realize how far we’ve backslid on certain social issues

1 star review. Ouch
Are the reactions worse than ttpd?
Yikes!
Is this really the same artist that gave us Folklore and Evermore?
“Never let your enemy tell you how many of you there are. Never let the man that you’re against form your opinions. This is the trick that’s played on everyone who’s oppressed: when you have a revolution in a country, the first thing you take over is the radio. Then, you start telling the people that the war is over, so all of them surrender. They believe that thing right there. And once they take that over, they start telling you where you are and where they are, and you fall right in line — it’s plain thought control. The majority of the American people aren’t segregationists. The majority of the American people aren’t imperialists. But the government is. The structure is; the power faction is. So, how, then, do all the majority go along with it? Because those who sit in power over the television, over the radio, and over the press are constantly telling those who are the masses how free they are, how this they are, and how that they are.”
Me to all the swifties who are waking up to the fact that Taylor manipulates your devotion for money
