Nature's perfect killing machine in action
Oh, to be a lazy little dog on a hot day.
The picture on the left is from the day I brought Llelo home. The one on the right was taken today, four years after the one on the left. Happy gotcha day, GooB ❤️
Another year in the bag. In that time, Llelo and I have embarked (pun very much intended) on a cross-country move as I started a PhD program. I'm so very glad he's been with me every step of the way.
Yesterday marked 6 years since this incredible, ridiculous fried chicken dog came into my life. He continues to amaze me with his bravery and composure as a very small dog with a very big job.

Do you have photos/videos of your poodles?
Having already done the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed health video, the next breed that got voted on is the popular Poodle!
I prefer to get average or typical pictures of the breed for use in these videos, rather than rely on stock footage of show dogs. So if you have footage of your (or your family’s) pets, with no kids in them that are too young to consent, and you’re willing to let me use them in a breed-health video (credited with your username), pretty please add them to this post or the Dropbox link below.
Dropbox for poodles (Standard, Mini and Toy)
Whatever username you’ve used, or saved the files as, is how the credit will appear, and background noise will be edited out of the clips.
I also genuinely enjoy seeing people show off their pets.
Llywelyn, 6 year old miniature poodle (red). He did get one of those lipomas poodles are prone to, which had to be removed.
About to get a tattoo! It's a combination of Galileo's drawings of the moon and Jupiter and its moons' orbits. Updates when it's done!
Um, am I to get a tattoo?I am not so sure I want one...
I am to be... A leetil idiot. Heehoo
Dat feel when your birthday peanut butter sticks to your tongue
Happy birthday to the love of my life, my motivation to walk regularly, and the reason I have to turn the gps off before we get to our destination. Happy second 6th birthday, sorry I forgot what year you were born and told you you were turning 7.

A page I have saved from Erin Jones, Constructing Canine Consent. A very interesting book about asking ourselves questions and evaluating how much freedom our dogs really do have in day to day life.
Hi! I have a book recommendation question for you, if that's okay.
I'm looking for books to learn more on how to make our dogs happier, on how to have a better time coexisting and I was wondering if you had any ideas!
Thank you!
Of course, no problem! I do have books on this topic.
The three books that helped me better understand dogs and how to take the best care of them were Ethics and Ethology for a Happy Dog by Anders Hallgren, Canine Enrichment for the Real World by Allie Bender and Emily Strong and Making Dogs Happy by Dr Melissa Starling & Prof Paul McGreevy.
For books with just practical ideas and how-tos, there's Happy Dog by Chelsea Barstow, What Dogs Want by Mat Ward and Enrichment Games for High Energy Dogs by Barbara Buchmayer.
There's also Wag: The Science of Making Your Dog Happy by Zazie Todd, I just haven't finished it yet.
