if you tell a trans woman she is "enforcing passing culture" by wanting to pass and expressing it i honestly hope nothing good happens in your life ever after that
Crazy that once I'm passing and starting to feel good about myself, fake allies are trying to tell me that being bricked tf out is actually the best.
This is why I'll never shut up about the part of Whipping Girl where Serano says we gotta stop calling it "passing." It pretty directly accuses us of 'hiding' or 'fooling people into thinking we're women.' We aren't "passing as women," we are women, we're being correctly gendered as women. When people deride us for "passing", they're blatantly saying that they don't think we're women. Afterall, nobody says cis women "pass as women" when they're correctly gendered as women.
I really do not think the average person understands how different the training resources and access are for a cis man playing sports vs everyone else. I wrote an article last month about how until 2020 they were given the Swedish women’s national hockey team expired protein bars for tournaments and only five practices leading up to it. More often than not people who aren’t cis able bodied men playing a sport do not have equipment properly fitted to them. Women’s teams do just straight up get less court or field or ice time. Coaches and trainers will refuse to train you on certain things because they just assume you cannot do something.
Idk. We have seen the athletic accomplishments of cis men come very far in the past century as they got more specialized training and the sports industry as a whole grew. Yet People still really think physical advancements and progression can only be done by cis men, and the the upper limit of what’s been recorded by everyone else is this permanent, unmovable thing. For a long time people thought it was impossible for a woman to do a triple axel until it happened.
the terf rhetoric is coming from inside the house dude
like if the script was flipped and a trans woman did this to you you'd be baying for her fucking blood
the nature of transmisogyny is such that the script CAN'T be flipped because for a trans woman to make the equivalent admissions is to hamstring her "case" for being a woman but you know what? they'd still be baying for her fucking blood
Starting a collection
I mean, in some very interesting Technically Correct ways, they didn't actually die? Now, they're very much no longer alive. But the forces involved are such that they didn't get any of the usual cellular processes of death, they simply went from biology to physics in less time than it takes a signal to travel down your optic nerve.
if you go from biology to physics without dying first you don’t go to heaven the uber driver went over this already
The winner that lost.
sleep deprived and i deleted my old iwtv tumblr bc i couldn’t stand the discourse so maybe i shouldn’t even post this but while the finale of TVL and the season at large was horrifically offensive in a multitude of ways i specifically want to point out that hannah moscovitch vacationed for four months in “israel” in 2007 on one of those “zionist socialist” communes, and that as someone who used occupied palestine as a vacation spot, she then went on to participate in the creation of material where an ostensibly muslim character (the only one in the show) is explicitly compared to josef mengele and to being a nazi in general multiple times (including using the SS symbol in big boss promo on the official insta account) before he carries out auschwitz-esque torture on what the show makes sure we know is shabbat. so yeah i hope this show gets canceled.
And also taking into account Rolin's own history of Zionism and Islamophobia, it's not at all surprising that this show portrays the Muslim character as a Nazi (even though that makes no damn sense whatsoever. But Zionists never do)
I got a job at a gas station across from a casino and a guy keeps coming in to buy whole cartons of cigarettes and talks in the third person calling himself "snake eyes pete" and every time I tell him his total hes like "tell ya what if old Pete rolls a snake eyes why dont you give it to him for free?" and he rolls the same set of loaded dice on the counter and it does not matter how many times he rolls snake eyes I will not give him the cartons for free he gets so mad
Snakeyes Pete is from Toronto he gave me a button once that said "Canadians have the best luck" and i said i thought that was the Irish and he said "I fucking hate the irish" and i said okay
Can I hit or do I have to pay tribute to the rest of your polycule first

“But North Korea has a cult of personality” and we depict our founding fathers as angel-like beings blessed with the divine vision of a great nation built on earth that will spread its light to all corners. Like literally. We painted that on the ceiling of our capital building.

A good video that accurately explains why stud is a term used for black lesbians only, not white, not poc, BLACK
I’m not even going to say please. Respect black identities and labels, they are ours for a reason.
Imma need this reblogged by white queer tumblr users since it’s mostly yall who wanna use it or want to know why you or other white people shouldn’t/can’t use the term “stud”
[video description: a tiktok made by @/callmekellin, responding to a comment that reads “what does being black have to do with being a stud …….”
the person in the video is a fem presenting black person in their car. they say “i love that you asked, lemme give you a little history lesson. full disclaimer, no hate to the commenter, i’m just giving everybody a bit of a debrief! now firstly, let’s talk about where the term stud actually comes from.
back in the days of slavery, when people still used to refer to us as animals, black people that were taller were known to be stronger because they could do more work. so down in the south, they started comparing us to horses. that then coined the term[s] studs for men, and stallions for females. like megan thee stallion. it was really big in the south. to compare us to animals.
but enough about the bleach brigade, let’s actually get back into the history. as you know, or if you don’t know, black women were not able to enter the working class until well into the 1960s. before then, there was a small populous of women that were still working, even though they technically were not supposed to.
‘how was it possible?’ these women would be dressing more masculine—using binders in order to help put down their chests, dressing more in a male form—and because of the fact that most bleach bandits believed that we, as black women, were already masculine, they got away with it. thus coining the term, in the black community, “stud.” because all the dudes knew, but she was one of the guys. so what did it matter?
any time the chlorine community would come up to black people and be like “hey! is that a female working!?” the guys would just save her and be like ‘nah, that’s a stud right there.” it was joke to them because they all knew. but as times changed and slang did too, the black community still keeps it close at heart. and yes, it was rooted in racism, but we’re taking it back for ourselves.
so once again, if you’re not a black, masculine lesbian that wants to be called a stud, you’re not a stud. you’re a masculine lesbian. even a butch if you want to. i hope that explained it!” end video description.]
@kneadbees you asked me about what "stud" meant!
Free service with ads: Well, if I'm not paying for it they have to foot the bill somehow.
Paid service with no ads: Well, if they're not funding it with ad revenue, they need to charge us something.
Paid service with ads: Well that's bullshit.
"We used to be a paid service without ads, but now we're putting ads in it! If you want the ad-free version you have to pay more for preeeeemium": Fuck you fuck you fuck you

Feminists might kill joy simply by not finding the objects that promise happiness to be quite so promising. The word feminism is thus saturated with unhappiness. Feminists by declaring themselves as feminists are already read as destroying something that is thought of by others not only as being good but as the cause of happiness. The feminist killjoy “spoils” the happiness of others; she is a spoilsport because she refuses to convene, to assemble, or to meet up over happiness.
Does the feminist kill other people’s joy by pointing out moments of sexism? Or does she expose the bad feelings that get hidden, displaced, or negated under public signs of joy?
Does bad feeling enter the room when somebody expresses anger about things, or could anger be the moment when the bad feelings that circulate through objects get brought to the surface in a certain way?
Feminists do kill joy in a certain sense: they disturb the very fantasy that happiness can be found in certain places. To kill a fantasy can still kill a feeling. It is not just that feminists might not be happily affected by the objects that are supposed to cause happiness but that their failure to be happy is read as sabotaging the happiness of others.
