Magical Square and Evocation for the Holocrypticon

This image shows an array of magical techniques in juxtaposition. A magical square is shown as a talismanic ‘key’. In formal ritual usage such squares manifest as three-dimensional cubes, gridded with light, in which the presiding spirits move and speak. Here the projection of the square into the cube is shown, with the angles of the grid equated with the entire sorcerer’s alphabet of the Azoetic corpus. The cipher is directed via the arrow of will and, through the agency of deified sexualities, serves as the translative medium for the spirits of the square.  It is of note to remark that, like the parameters of a magical square, the bordering lines of these pictures operate exactly like the perimeter of the formal ritual magical circle: to contain, to focus and to bind the spirits and the mage in a field of operative affinities. This present picture is a talisman for an unpublished magical text by Alogos, called ‘The Holocrypticon’. At present this text exists as a whole in dream and partially in the form of single reified manuscripts.

As a witch and folk herbalist I strongly disagree.

While I do use herbs medicinally, they should in no way be used to the exclusion or disregard of modern allopathic medicine. Integrative medicine is important!

Also, it’s not just which herbs are safe for the meds your in, but also which herbs are safe for you specific body. Not everyone should be drinking hibiscus tea, even if they aren’t on blood pressure meds, for example.

As my blog motto has become, Just because something is Natural doesn’t mean it’s Safe (or healthy.)

As a South Asian American feminist, let me remind everyone that oppression is not a competition.

Just because we fight one type of sexism doesn’t mean we don’t care about other instances of sexism that don’t affect us directly in our day to day lives.

My heart goes out to this woman and the hundreds of other victims like her. I want to educate people about these kinds of incidents. I support organizations that help women like this.

You may think that dress code issues are trivial, but they are related to a larger issue of women’s bodily autonomy, which affects women’s health and safety.

So please, let’s try to bring awareness and bring about change instead of insulting entire groups of people because they are facing issues that are less scary than the one presented.

Every time someone, usually a guy, complains about feminists not experiencing oppression, I can’t help but see what they are really trying to say.

“This is how men could be treating you, be grateful it’s only as bad as it is now.”

And that’s actually an attribute of abusers, I believe I read somewhere. To compare you to someone being treated worse and tell you you should be grateful you have it so good. It convinces the victim they should be silent in the face of their abuse.

It’s literally an abuse tactic. 

Every time someone says something like, “You […] have never experienced oppression, and pray you never do, because this is what it looks like.” What they are saying is, “shut up, we could treat you worse if we wanted to.”

I think that it’s so common to compare women to lesser privileged women and say atleast you’re not as oppressed as them as a counter argument to any feminist talk.

Like a woman in America complains about dress codes and she’s told to shut up and be happy she doesnt live in an “oppressed third world country”.

When I complain about being forced to dictate my whole schedule around the concept of “what does not make me a rape target” my mother tells me atleast I’m not oppressed like the woman who sometimes cleans for us who got married at 15.

This woman, when complaining to her mother before her marriage, was told atleast he won’t get drunk and beat you up.

It isnt a competition.

Oppression happens and one of the ways the oppressors stop us from achieving our goals is to set us against each other.

my strangest legacy - in high school, for one reason or another (I can’t remember) my friends and I wrote “34 days until March 2nd” on the whiteboard in the drama classroom. It was completely arbitrary but we kept it it up, “30 days until March 2nd”  ”23 days until March 2nd” etc. It spread around enough that the entire school is buzzing about what is going to happen on March 2nd. We figure we should think of something and decide to bring in cake. There were about 13 of us in total committed to bringing a cake. On March 2nd, during 3rd period lunch we all entered the cafeteria in a line (the parade of the cakes) and laid them out—a grand cake buffet for everyone in that lunch period. We did it the next year. And after we graduated it kept going.

This past March 2nd was the 9th year they’ve done it. It’s become a school sponsored event. There are t-shirts for this thing every year. March 2nd is cake day. I am a god.
