"Give me a hand?"
"Actually, I might just lay here for a while."
Crippling Strike [Cora|Isaac|Kira]
Cora chuckled lowly, shaking her head with a smile, as Isaac promised to try his best to make the personnel in the headquarters fall asleep. Her chocolate hues went to the kitsune as Isaac explained her what him and Cora were talking about. Kira's words also made the youngest Hale chuckle. "Coincidence or not, I trust him deeply," the she-wolf stated with a dismissive shrug. "And it wouldn't hurt to ask Deaton about it," she proposed to the Beta before he chose to ride in the Hummer.
Hearing Isaac had worked on it was pretty relieving, knowing that the sight of a beaten, bloody Hummer probably would not get the team too far. Looking towards the vehicle, Cora smiled softly. "What would I do without you?" Cora thanked him. "Looks brand new," she observed with a wide grin as she grabbed the keys and led her fellow werewolf and kitsune towards the large vehicle as Kira warned her not to underestimate the power of a katana-wielding vixen. "Just try to keep up with two rabid werewolves," Cora teased with a smirk, unlocking the car.
When Cora took the wheel and turned on the Hummer, it roared to life. "Did you tune it up too? It sounds so much better," Cora noticed with a wide smirk. As she pulled out through a hidden tunnel, she saw the other two vehicles in which the gigantic Alpha and the others traveled. Flickering her headlights at them, she raced past them and watched them follow in her review mirror.
It took them a couple of minutes to get to the Elite Force's headquarters. The building was at the northern border of town-- a formerly abandoned building that had been quickly cleaned and mildly remodeled for the newly founded law enforcement department. The other two vehicles parted from the group as to take their defensive positions. Meanwhile, Cora parked the Hummer on the blindside of the headquarters. She took a deep breath, turning the vehicle off and looking to her watch as it marked midnight. "We're ready?" She asked her companions, readying herself.
Isaac liked to think that the Hummer was pretty important in what they had been doing lately, and had therefore personally assigned himself to keep it in shape and blood free at any spare moment he was given. Without it, it wouldn't be so easy to run over those against them. They had other vehicles, but for some reason, this one just felt like the best choice. That's why he made sure that the other werewolves took the other vehicles.
"I made sure that the vehicle was kept together, yeah." He'd kept the other vehicles in-shape too, of course, but special attention was paid to the Hummer. "It wasn't going to keep driving as it was, so I had to do it." Isaac shrugged lightly, his shoe knocking against one of their weapons that he hadn't taken from the floor yet. It was probably smart to keep them there, though. "I've kept myself busy."
When they'd reached the headquarters, Isaac had to take a quiet, but deep breath. He knew that they had good odds of this going to plan, but it was hard to not get at least a little nervous before they had began. "Ready as we're gonna be."
Cora sighed in exhaustion and nodded softly, suddenly awkwardly aware of her own bruises and sore muscles. “I hear you,” she mumbled, reaching up to pat on the tall Beta’s shoulder. “You should take a couple of days off. Heal completely,” she encouraged Isaac.
Isaac smiled a little, glad that the other was sympathetic to his situation-- probably because she had been facing pretty much the same exact problems. "We don't have the time to just take breaks, Cora. You know that." He shook his head slowly. "I'll be fine."
What do you mean you hurt yourself? What did you do?
I fell from a tree. Or was forced from a tree.
The landing wasn't too comfortable.
What happened, Isaac?
My fault. I hurt myself. Took a little too long to heal. But I'm alive. So drop it.
Cora furrowed her eyebrows in worry. “What’s wrong?” She asked, her hand reaching out to the Beta just in case he needed help staying on his feet.
Isaac shook his head a little, giving the other a weak smile, trying to reassure her. "No, I'm just.. just, tired. Hurt myself, took awhile to heal, but it certainly took it's toll on my energy."
What do you mean again?
Again means that I've already passed out today. I thought that was obvious.
I feel like I'm about to pass out.
Again.
Trust me, I know. That’s why having some form of school here is good for me. It’s a distraction at least.
I wonder how all of the normal people are getting on right now? I hope they're as messed up as us.
I understand that, but we both know Scott. I don’t know. Hopefully I’m just worrying over nothing.
There's quite a lot to worry about right now, Malia.
It would be, yeah. They usually always had a plan. I have a feeling that Scott might be a little angry once he finds out that we’re going to hurt people to get him out.
I'm sure he'll be okay with it. Or at least, after a while. Sometimes you need to hurt people to get what you want.
"I bet it was," Joshua added with an amused smirk. "Cora mentioned that I had of yet officially met her right hand man," he commented. "So, I thought I come introduce myself." Joshua smiled before looking down at his get up as if finally realizing he was in his uniform. "Forgive the attire," he apologize. "But I have a role to play," he excused himself.
Isaac looked at the others clothing, then sighed quietly, thinking that the others clothing was an unpleasant reminder of exactly what was going on lately. It also made him think, and wonder, exactly what was Joshua doing to help? He'd do his best to trust the man. "Oh, I'm sure you love uniform. But, yeah, hey."
Yeah, I do… We’re going to get them all out, right?
I feel like if we had Stiles and Scott here, it would be far easier.
Yeah… Look, I hate to ask this but how good are you at math?
I bet you wish Lydia could help you a little more right now.
Can’t hurt to at least try, can it? I mean, its not like I can lose any smarts from doing this.
When you put it that way..
I can at least try. When all of this is over—if it’s ever over and I’m around for it—I want to actually be as smart as everyone else in my grade at school.
I don't mean to crush your dreams, but do you honestly think that you'll be able to make up for years worth of lost school in.. however long this is going to last?
What? Oh—no. Um, just mumbling to myself, I guess. Trying to force myself to learn something.
You can't learn by forcing yourself.
