Lost Boy ? – “It Before”

Davey Jones has been making weirdo, infectious rock music as Lost Boy ? for awhile now, and next month he will release his latest offering. Goose Wazoo is a concept album of sorts that centers on a detective story, and we heard its title track just last week. The follow-up single, "It Before," is a super short punk song recorded straight to cassette. Listen below. Goose Wazoo is out 9/9 via Little Dickman Records/State Capital Records.

Lost Boy ? – “Goose Wazoo”

Davey Jones has been making catchily eccentric rock music for a few years now, most recently on his band Lost Boy ?'s 2015 debut full-length, Canned. Next month, he'll release Goose Wazoo, a loose concept album centered around the titular character, a detective in the form of a blob. The title track and lead single serves as his offbeat theme song: "He was on the case/ He has a melting face/ Always good for the job!/ Never out of place, always down for the chase," Jones sings over jangly harmonies. The kicker is his calling card: "Call Goose Wazoo/ 'Cus it could happen to you." The song is accompanied by a comic that echoes the narrative and sets the scene -- listen and read below. Goose Wazoo is out 9/9 via Little Dickman Records/State Capital Records. The release show will take place on 9/10 at Brooklyn's Shea Stadium.

After a nice hiatus, lost boy ? will be playing on Jan 22nd at Palisades in Brooklyn NY. We will be celebrating WASHER’s LP release “here comes.. Washer” along side Yazan and Stove.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows, put us up, gave us food, a shower, showed us around. It means a lot. With that said it has been a long two months. A bumpy ride one might say. So bumpy at times you would hit your head on the roof. Now that tour is over and there are no future shows booked for lost boy ? we will be taking hiatus til next year. I can't even tell you how happy and proud I am that "Canned" is out on LP with all great reviews. But now it is time to move forward and start working on the next one. Until then, I would like to thank you for your continues support. I hope to see you all soon in the near future. Lost Boy ? – “Big Business Monkey” (Daniel Johnston Cover) - Stereogum

The last time I saw Lost Boy ? live was in Daniel Johnston's adopted hometown of Austin during our SXSW showcase earlier this year, so it somehow feels appropriate to me that their next release following their sophomore LP Canned would be a cover of the legendary singer-songwriter's Hi, How Are You track "Big Business Monkey." The original is one of those songs that is, unfortunately, destined to live on in "unfinished" form, but the New York band gives it the right amount of polished pep. Here's frontman Davey Jones on the importance of the song to him: I chose ‘Big Business Monkey’ by Daniel Johnston because this track is one of my personal favorites. Daniel is a true document of what it is to be an American artist. This song, lyrically, speaks true to my feelings about the business world as well as self-serving groups at large.
