If you don't bother to include transmasc/trans men/nonbinary/intersex people when discussing transphobia.
You don't get to complain when these same group of people make their own spaces, their own terms and talk about their specific oppression while not centering you.
im talking about this here because i need to let this off my chest. but i went into a trade program for lower incomes. and today, without any warning, we were cut off. the entire program was shutdown NATIONWIDE. leaving so many people without some sort of income, or homeless, or forced to return home to abusive households that they were trying to escape. there are so many people who lost so much in ONE DAY. please understand that so many people are now left with nothing. this was a trade program for people who wanted to LEAVE POVERTY AND ENTER FIELDS WHERE THEY HAD A CHANCE!! and today it was STOLEN. and then to add insult to injury. staff members who are going to LOSE THEIR JOBS. are still stuck there for two more weeks while being forced to find something else in such a short notice. no one. and i mean NO ONE. was given a proper fair warning. please dont leave us to be forgotten.
i dont want to beat around the bush. please help if you can. these are people's lives being dangled around like they're disposable.
please contact your elected officials. post about it. call them. anything so that this isn't swept under the rug.
this current petition is currently at 202 signatures. its not a lot but each one counts. each one gives them a chance.
even if you dont like job corps. even if you never heard of it. people deserve to have a chance with this program if they want it. not have it snatched away from them and to be left with nothing. please spread the word of this at the very least.

This is what we are talking about when we say that talking about young adults like they're not old enough to make their own decisions hurts the legal adulthood of all young adults.
Mississippi, unlike most states, does not consider a young person an adult until 21. What does this mean? Well, among other things...
But the courts denied the name change request of SBM, a trans man with the full support of his parents in his transition, because they found 18 years old is not an adequate age to ensure “maturity” and warrant such a “life-altering” decision.
Got that? Because he's not considered an adult, he can't change his name (even with the full support of his parents). The State has decided that he's just not old enough to change his name.
Is this ruling based in transphobia and will it likely not hold up on appeal? Both things are probably true. That doesn't change the fact that this rhetorical line is exactly what's being used to strip rights from young adults.

The plaintiff may still be able to cross state lines to get a name change, but it is unclear the extent to which Mississippi would honor it. In addition, it threatens to thrust Mississippians of all backgrounds into the epicenter of a constitutional crisis. The ruling and its rollout could call the 26th Amendment into question, which lowered the voting age to 18 after the mass conscription of young people during the Vietnam War. It also tests the Full Faith and Credit Clause, which requires states to respect the records-keeping of other states (such as name changes and marriage licenses); Mississippians’ 14th Amendment right to due process; and an individual’s First Amendment rights.
Republicans are already trying to roll back the voting rights of young people because people under 25 overwhelmingly vote not-Republican. Just... for fuck's sake, y'all. The myth that people's brains "aren't done developing until 25" is just that: a myth.

Here's the thing. There are some nasty trans masculine people. Absolute fucking dickheads. Dickheads to trans femmes, dickheads to cis queers, dickheads to trans men they see as 'lesser' than them. They say awful shit, they are toxic, they should be held absolutely accountable for all of it. They cannot use their transness to excuse themselves.
But when that guy is the guy you're thinking about entirely when you think of trans mascs you end up making grand generalising sounding statements that people are absolutely going to pick apart.
There are some goddamn awful trans women out there right now, saying the most terrible shit even about other trans women. She's come to your mind now, hasn't she? But she's not all trans women, she's not even most trans women.
If we can understand that, we can understand the same for trans masculine people, and not assume terrible shit about them all the time.

I see a video titled "funny fish compilation" and it's just fish being blatantly mistreated and harmed. e.g. being patted like a dog while gasping for breath out of the water. or someone shoving a cigarette into a fish's mouth before dropping it back in the water. any videos like that featuring dogs or rabbits or birds would be met with absolute horror but because it's fish, it gets 500k likes. it just sucks
