THEIA I.
The bar was dead. More than dead actually, it was a graveyard with one soul roaming; her. She was bored and cleaning glassware, humming quietly to herself. Truthfully, Theia wanted the day to be over so she could curl up in her bed, with her dog, and just watch some shitty reality T.V. Sadly, she was the very late, meaning second-last to go. With a sigh, she turned on her heel to put the glass away before seeing the person sitting there.
“Just be thankful I didn’t break out in dance.”
Logan has been walking around the city for an hour now with his German Shepherd Harley. He was getting thirsty, so when he saw a bar coming up, he wanted to go in. Wrapping Harley’s leash around a stable post outside, he walked in and saw nobody except the bartender. “Damn,” he whispered to himself while walking to the bar top. When he heard her speak, a shy smile approached his lips. “I promise your dance moves are better than mine. I can’t dance to save my life.” He chucked softly before ordering himself a beer. Seeing as it was dead here, he looked at the bartender and asked, “Is it okay if my dog comes in here? She’s tied up outside and really well trained. She’d love to meet you.”
BAJA E.
“Store’s closed, come back again tomorrow.” It wasn’t, not for another hour at least. But she was tired, her mom left to meet her dad and it had been dead all day.
“I-It is?” Logan questioned once hearing the worker’s words. Glancing at the store hours sign, he saw it was open for another hour and was confused. “The sign says it’s open for another hour.”
FELIX W.
Chest heaving evenly and blonde locks breezed through courtesy the wind, Felix approaches the individual after successfully stopping them, their phone in his grasp as he breathes out finally, “I’m sure you’ll be looking for this later on.” Extending the object out towards its rightful owner, he murmurs, “here ya go.”
“Huh?” He questioned the blonde man before looking at his hand. There was his phone that mischievously fell out of his pocket. “Oh my God, thank you.” He said once taking his phone back in his grasp. “Please tell me you’re getting a drink or food somewhere so I can repay you for this.”
CORRI D.
Corri sighed as she finally got the last box for her office up onto the desk, pushing a piece of her hair behind her ear. Not only had she gotten a new apartment but she had been offered the editor in chief position at the Advocate. She felt like her father had something to do with it, especially when she told that the previous editor in chief resigned effective immediately from the position. She wasn’t going to read too much into it and accepted the position. Now here she was, moving into the office late in the evening with some help. “Since you enjoyed watching me struggle with these boxes, would you mind helping me unbox things?”
“Enjoyed watching you struggle?” Logan questioned Corri’s words. “I fully appreciated the way you carried them all by yourself. You’re very strong.” A teased smirk covered his lips as he chuckled softly. “I’d love to.” He responded to her question before moving to a box and opening it. “Are you excited about this new job of yours?”
CARMEN I.
It was the calm before the storm. At least that’s how Carmen Illescas viewed it. Not only was it Saturday night but it was St. Patrick’s day as well, which meant her night would be crazier than normal and the expectations were even higher. Venue rented and decorated, caterers milling around in the kitchen and bar fully stocked meant Carmen could finally focus on what matters…herself. She didn’t have anytime to head home for a change, so decided to turn to the empty bar into her personal dressing room. “You’re a few hours too early.” Carmen states, hearing the door open and footsteps to follow. Shimmying into her dress, she looks over her shoulder at the person. “Well, since you’re here. How about you make yourself useful and zip me up?
Like any other evening, Logan was walking to a bar to have himself a good glass of beer. After the tough workout he put himself through, he needed it. When walking into the bar, he forgot it was St. Patrick’s day and every bar in this city was getting ready to rage. Looking around at the empty space, he cursed under his breath after hearing the woman speak. Seeing her half naked behind the bar didn’t help as he had a hard time not looking at her. When he heard her question, he nodded stupidly before eventually saying, “S-Sure thing.” Stumbling over his words, he made it behind the bar and to the woman in one piece. Not wanting to say anything else, he zipped up the woman’s dress in a calm fashion. “There you go.” He grinned before letting his eyes wander over her body. “Y-You look great. Sorry for interrupting your time before the crowds come in.”
JONNY D.
“Listen, will you just grab those boxes?” He nodded towards the three laying on the floor. The rest of his apartment had been emptied out besides the boxes he’d recently brought down to his car and the current few scattered on the floor. “Then we can lock this place up and leave.”
“Sure thing.” Logan nodded towards Jonny before doing what he asked. After picking up the boxes from the floor, he placed them into his car before asking, “May I ask why you’re moving?”
ALTHAEA T.
As soon as Althaea walked out of the two story family home that she shared with one other person, she saw that dreaded motorcycle. That horrible bike that she said she was going to trash. And, hell, there was no time like the present in her mind. So she went back up the stairs and grabbed the first thing she could find. It happened to be a bat which was good enough for her. When she got back down the stairs, she kicked the bike as hard as she could onto the ground. To be honest, it was a little heartbreaking hurting a precious motorcycle like that, but she was too angry to care right now. Next thing she knew, she was slamming the bat down onto every part of the bike over and over again until it started falling apart. After a few moments, the bike was almost a pile of junk on the ground and the bat was starting to slowly break. So Aly sat down on the curb next to it and let out a sigh. Hearing someone walking by didn’t divert her gaze away from the broken piece of junk in front of her though. All she did was hold up the bat. “Wanna take a swing?”
Waking up with his amputated leg screaming in pain, Logan didn’t want to get out of bed. He didn’t want to do anything, but he had to move. Once the pain had simmered, he got ready for his day and decided to go for a walk. Walking actually calmed it down and prevented more pain than standing still. As it almost came to a stop, there was no way he was going to stop walking. Entering a neighborhood, he looked at all of the cute houses and yard decorations. It was quiet until he heard something break ahead of him. Seeing a woman smash what seemed to be a motorcycle to pieces, he needed to see what was going on. Approaching the scene, he was about to speak before the woman asked him a question. “N-No, i’m good, thanks.” He said before continuing, “I’m actually here to ask if you’re okay?”
CAROLINE B.
Today, Caroline almost quit her job. She was so sick of it, sick of spilling drinks all over herself when someone ran into her, sick of drunk men flirting with her in the most disgusting ways, sick of burning her fingers on hot plates. But it wasn’t the first time she almost quit her job. Most days, she just went home, curled up in her bed and drowned her sorrows in take out and bad romcoms, but today she had been so sick of her job and herself, she couldn’t stand the idea of doing that. So instead, she found herself standing at a bar, having lost count of the shots she’d already had. They were just starting to do their job, making her feel warm and fuzzy, but she already felt much better, and with a wide grin plastered across her face, she turned to the side to offer another shot to the person standing next to her. “You want one? I ordered two, but I might have to stick with just one for now if I want to hit up the dance floor.” Whether she’d actually do that was questionable though, the blonde couldn’t remember the last time she’d danced. But she was trying to have fun and get out there.
Logan was enjoying his evening at home. Drinking coffee, petting Harley, and watching TV. Feeling his phone buzz, he saw he had a text from Caroline. Seeing as it was a mixture of non-understandable words, he believed she was drunk or it wasn’t meant for him. Since he hasn’t seen her in awhile, he wanted to check up on her since he genuinely cares. Going through bars like crazy, he ended up in one of his favorite ones and he noticed the blonde instantly. Grinning from relief, he approached her. Getting to her side, he was about to open his mouth, but she did first. “I’m good, but thanks for asking.” He said, a calmness radiating from him. “I’m only here to check up on you. How are you doing?”
GWENDOLYN P.
When it felt as if the weight of grief was trying its hardest to suffocate her, Gwendolyn had always found her way to her daddy’s church. Which would probably come to no surprise that it helped soothe the ache she swore she didn’t feel anymore. But the main reason she’d come to this little church on the hill would be how beautiful the sky looked. No matter what time of day, she could stare up at the clouds or the stars until someone came looking for her. And maybe she could’ve spent the time here looking up at the stained windows and pretend to see the colors of Heaven above as the sun was beginning to rise by painting the sky with beautiful colors. That was until a noise had startled her, her head whipping around to see what made it. “Oh, service doesn’t start for a few more hours.”
It was Sunday morning and Logan was wide awake. It wasn’t eight in the morning and he usually doesn’t get up this early. The last time he did this was when in the Army and going to church even before then. Thinking about his childhood, his parents would probably get mad at him for not going to church anymore, so when getting out of bed and started to get ready, he put on his best church attire. Finding a church close to him, he walked out of his apartment and headed his way there. Parking his motorcycle close by, he saw a woman stand in front of the church. He was about to pass her before he heard her speak. “Oh, damn.” He said, realizing he never knew when the service he wanted to attend started. “Well, I guess it’s a good time to get coffee now.” He added before starting to walk away. After a few steps, he turned back to the woman and asked, “Do you want to join me?”
BEXLEY M.
“I am fairly certain that you are not nearly as tipsy as you say you are, you’ve had like nothing to drink! Unless this is your way of telling me you’re an utter lightweight. You need at least another drink in you so you’ll actually get up on that stage with me”, Bexley ranted, waving on to the bartender for yet another round for them. “Karaoke awaits us, come on drink!”
“I promise i’ve had enough. I can drink more, but I don’t want to end up sick.” Logan told the woman before chugging the rest of his beer down. He met her recently and knew she’d pull him out of his shell. After finishing his drink, he got up and held onto the woman’s shoulder for balance. “When we eventually get up there, what do you want to sing?”
COLE B.
“What, it was the best I could fucking do,” he proclaimed while brandishing the bottle of cheap whiskey. But who cares when he was getting it for free, having just gotten off work.
“I’m not complaining. This is what happens when you know an employee at a liquor store. Props to you, my good friend.” He grinned towards Cole before looking around the area. “Where do you want to drink this? The park, sneak it into a bar, a movie theater?” He asked, throwing random areas at him.
CORA B.
Working in a liquor store, Cora saw a lot of things she wished she could forget about. The most annoying had to be teenagers who were trying to buy alcohol, acting like she could tell the difference. “Listen you little shit, you’re not twenty-one. Do I look like I’m missing a few brain cells? Get a better fake ID. Now get out of here.” She watched as the kid walked out before turning her attention to the next person in line. “ID please.”
Seeing as Logan had a good amount of beer in his fridge, he missed out on some good liquor. He couldn’t remember the last time he had a good glass of whiskey. Feeling it was time to restock, he went to the liquor store. Grabbing a good bottle of Jack Daniels, he stood in line and saw the scene unfold before him. Chuckling as the teenager walked out in anger, he got his ID out and put his bottle of liquor on the table. “Good job catching the fake. I don’t think he’ll come back in here again for a few weeks. He looked pretty terrified.” He said with a grin while holding out his ID to her. “I promise i’m definitely over the age of twenty-one, sadly.”
AMELIA A.
☛ closed thread for LOGAN SHEPHERD
since being cut off completely from her trust fund account, amelia had picked up as many extra shifts as she could manage to handle. and in doing so, her skills as a waitress had greatly improved. that particular night the tavern had been surprisingly empty, save for the regulars. the blonde served the handful of customers that were present before she realized that a familiar face had just seated himself in a booth. she finished taking care of the diners on the other side of the restaurant before approaching him. pushing herself up onto the table nearest him she said, “you know, i think this is the tenth time i’ve served you and i don’t even know your name. if you’re going to be a regular of mine it’s a requirement.”
Walking into the tavern, Logan smiled at the hostess before scanning the area. He quickly found his usual booth and felt his smile grow once seeing it was empty. Slipping into it, he pushed the menu aside as he already knew what to get. He was a regular, so it wasn’t a shock that he had a usual order. He would change it up soon, but not yet. After his hostess got him some water, his eyes peaked at the familiar blonde and he began to watch her. He’s seen her multiple times and still didn’t know her name. Hopefully tonight that would change. When he saw her head his way, he looked away before hearing her smooth voice approach his ears. “I’m sorry i’ve never formally introduced myself, but you never asked.” His smile turned into a grin before he held out his hand toward her. “I’m Logan, Logan Shepherd. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
SALVADOR I.
The life of Salvador Illescas consisted of many things. However, the one thing that seemed to be at the pinnacle of it all was partying. Since he decided to not do so at the strip club tonight, he had found a bar to make his haven for the night. And, hell, he was feeling a little generous. “Free drinks for everyone in this bar on me. You’re welcome,” he yelled out to the people surrounding him. He brought the shot he had just gotten to his mouth and took it back. Why not enjoy himself and make an impression all in one go?
Sitting on a barstool, Logan sipped his beer and watched the wild crowd before him. As he enjoyed his drink, he liked people watching and kept his eyes on a few who were extra crazy. Hearing the man order drinks for everyone here, he cocked his eyebrow before rolling his eyes onto him. He was closer than he thought, so he decided to yell towards him, “You’re way too generous or drunk, man. If you need help paying the tab at the end, I can pitch in.”
NIC J.
Fingers curled comfortably around the can of spray paint in her hand, she flipped it over listening to the pea on the inside rattle as she looked up at the blank brick wall, footsteps behind her only partially pulling her attention. “If you’re about to show me a badge, I promise I’ll show you mine. Got it out of a cereal box when I was eight. I got the handcuffs a year later too.” Tilting her head, Nic looked up over her shoulder with a lackluster smile, “I’m a total non-offender right now, and you’re the only suss looking one here, how fast can you run?”
“I promise, i’m nowhere near a cop. I have friends who are cops, but not one myself.” Logan stated before continuing, “I’m only over here to see what you’re working on, that’s all.” He said before seeing the blank wall in front of the woman. Hearing her question, he locked eyes with hers and said, “I can run faster than a cop and I even have one working leg. How about yourself?”
