Getting pushed into the dance circle and hitting the Donny Osmond in white & nerdy

why do we need perfect, martyred victims-- especially in the everyones-an-evil-asshole vampire show?
claudia was manipulative, impulsive, and calculating. GOOD FOR HER!!
How it has felt watching tvl after waiting for 2 years, and excitedly recommending the show to everyone I know:
I'm glad a lot more people are being open about disliking that s2 reunion scene. Idk what fumes lestans and loustat fans were inhaling to defend it that vehemently ("if you don't get it you're not media literate enough for this show!" 🤪) but lbr the issues with all of the show's abuse apologia didn't just start with s3, the writers were already trying to retcon and downplay Lestat's abusive actions, his attempts to nearly kill Louis and Claudia and his role in that lynching, doing that in their interviews too while throwing Louis under the bus and having him comfort Lestat. This has been a pattern from these writers for a while now.
I used to like the s2 reunion.
Did I react to Louis being the only one apologizing? Yes. Did I have an issue with them glossing over Lestat’s participation in the trial? Yes.
But I was under the delusion that s3 would delve into Lestat and him having to face his wrong doings and become a better person. Having Claudia haunt him, the grief and horror what he did to her and Louis haunt him. And we’d have a moment where he apologized to Louis, and like in the trial ‘I wasn’t worthy of the forgiveness you’d give me’ moment.
But no. That’s not what we got. At all. We got the DARVO season.
So of course I don’t like the reunion scene with the context of TVL. If I close my eyes and pretend TVL isn’t real I can maybe be neutral about it now.
immortality as theft (you have to steal life from something else) immortality as parasitism (there is something else inside You that is keeping you alive and you become less of yourself more and more the longer it stays in you) immortality as violence (everything is trying to kill you because everything is supposed to die and the universe will always try to find a way to right the wrong that is You) you understand
Ryland Grace and his popularity as a character feels like such an important step in repairing the cultural tsunami left by the long running trope of every genius character needing to be an insufferable asshole to everyone in a ten mile radios about it.
Conversely, Eva Stratt is doing wonders for repairing and inspiring a appreciation for commanding women with dubious moral convictions who are fully willing to bend laws for the greater good without hesitation.
And together they are doing brilliant things by not kissing or hooking up even once.
Whenever people talk about “ hot tub streams” this is what I see https://youtu.be/yAJnpaFRrlw?si=Hf5A8Kd7pEvQB3Ct
People say that female characters should have flaws and be wrong but they can't even handle Peggy Hill

Daniel's really insisting on calling Armand "dad" and framing their relationship as parental to distance himself from his conflicting feelings, likely evoking his relationship with his own absent father, to sort of soothe the ache. keep denying it boy we know how you really feel. gonna start calling him daddy real soon
