Tarot Tips
đ Find The Empress in your deck. The card behind her will reveal what you need to do to nurture and care for yourself.Â
đ When in conflict or competition with someone, look for 5 of Wands. The card behind it will reveal the solution to the problem.
đ If you see the same card over and over again in readings, it is a sign and you must pay attention to its message for you.
đ For a better understanding of each card, observe it closely and form your own interpretation that follows its themes. It will help you interpret readings better.
đ To find out what is making you feel stuck or delayed, look to The Hanged Man. The card underneath him will show what is holding you back. The card in front of him will show you how to overcome it.
đ When shuffling your cards, if any card drops out of your grasp, take it as a sign and read the card.Â
đ You do not need crystals with you to do proper readings, but a good way to cleanse your deck is to place a clear quartz on the top of your deck before each reading. Keep in mind; thereâs a variety of ways you can cleanse your deck.
đ Often when The High Priestess appears in a reading, she is trying to tell you that you know the answers and that you should listen to your inner voice.
đ There is no wrong way to shuffle or cleanse your deck. Do what feels right for you!

Fruit Correspondences from my google drive grimoire, before they get organized into my physical grimoire. As someone from Puerto Rico currently living in Florida, many/most of the fruits here can be found in the Caribbean and Florida, and have the cultural correspondences that I personally feel them to have from my own upbringing.Â
SOME OF THEM ARE POISONOUS and need to be prepared a very SPECIFIC WAY or at a SPECIFIC POINT in their ripeness. Also, some of the names are in Spanish first, because thatâs the quickest way for me to personally find them on the list.Â
On Larkspur (Delphinium)
Hey Witchblr, Lucy here! I thought Iâd write up a post on the Larkspur, my blogâs namesake. Itâs a plant I use in my practice in various stages of its bloom cycle, which is why I cultivate it in my garden (and in pots inside during winter).
I will be discussing the genus Delphinium today. There is another genus of flower called the Larkspur: Consolida. I donât have any experience using it in my practice, so thatâs why I will focus on Delphinium today. In English, they both carry the name âLarkspurâ and in my native tongue, they share a name as well. They also share a very important feature, which I will bold before I continue this post:
All parts of the Larkspur plant are toxic upon ingestion and unsafe for human consumption. Depending on the species, ingesting Larkspur could lead to irreversible organ damage or even death. Do not, and I repeat, do not eat any part of the Larkspur plant. This also goes for cats, dogs, and supposedly for other pets.
For reference, this is Larkspur, a plant you should avoid eating at all costs if you come across it in the wild or elsewhere:
With that out of the way, letâs talk about cultivating the plant first. I believe growing your own plants when possible is a core part of any practice that uses plants. Here are some things you should know:
First of all, because it canât be said enough: keep the plants away from animals and children. Preferably, stow it somewhere with mild to full sun depending on your climate and keep well-watered. Every species has its own needs which you may find online, or you could ask about the specific variety of Larkspur at the store where you buy the plant or its seeds!
Delphinium Larkspurs are perennial plants. This means it will live for multiple years (if treated properly of course) with most varieties living for 2-3 years while some can survive much longer and grow up to 2 meters (6â7â).
This means that you donât have to harvest and save seed every year if you want to keep a healthy plot for a longer time, although I do advise it because a small plague or bad luck could wipe out your stock and leave you with no seed.
The flowers, which bloom in late spring and early summer in their natural environment, are pollinated by bumblebees and butterflies, so they would serve well in attracting insects to your garden.
With that out of the way, how can a witch use Delphinium species of Larkspur in practice?
General notes:
The plant lends itself well to use in all practices surrounding growth and the cycle of life.
I have found that in general, the species of Larkspur has no direct impact on its usage. If you do use multiple species, you may find differing results based on your specific practice. Take those results as what they most likely are: signs that your magic has a preference.
The plant is associated with the months June and July, and especially with the summer solstice.
The plant is also associated with the planet Venus and therefore with Fridays in Ptolemaic astrology
Using the flower:
Use the flower in rituals regarding protection and/or growth â personal growth, not the growth of relationships with others.
Its magical potency does increase with the size of the flower, but not necessarily with the size of the plant as a whole
The buds of the flower should not be harvested, for this represents dying. Of course, I will not judge if your practice includes death, but the Larkspur is a tricky plant; consider using other representations of death if you are not familiar with Larkspur.
Using the seeds:
The seeds of the larkspur represent potential, like many seeds do. Larkspur seeds specifically represent a potency to become kinder; this is represented in the fact that the seeds are the most toxic part of the plant.
When burned (in the open air, donât breathe that smoke) the seeds can bring said potential to the area where it is burned. Because of this, the seeds are most useful to witches with altars or places of worship in the outside air.
When buried out of season, such that they can not sprout, the seeds can be used to keep new things from beginning or arriving in your life.
Using the roots, stems and leaves:
The stems and leaves of the Larkspur are best suited for rituals regarding growth of friendship and other relationships
The roots, when dried and burned in the open air, can bless a garden with good fortune.
If you do not grow food, use all parts of end-of-life Larkspur plants for compost to complete the cycle of growth and death the plant represents. If you do grow food, keep these plants away from your compost: the risk of transferring toxicity to your food is too high.
For the same reasons, you want to dig out all of the roots of your Larkspur if you decide to plant something else, and preferrably even change out the soil before you cultivate food there.
I hope you learned something from this post, and if you have any questions - about Larkspur or otherwise - feel free to reach out!
This Icelandic manuscript of magic, known as the âHuldâ manuscript, presumably derives its name from the word âhuldaâ meaning secrecy, and was compiled from three older sources by Geir VigfĂșsson in 1860. These ten selected pages from the manuscript feature âstafir,â or what we might call sigils today.

Sigil Crafting
Sigils were the first magic I ever learned. As an artist, symbolism and aesthetic are things that are incredibly important to me. I have used multiple ways of crafting sigils, but I have created my own personal way of creating sigils using a method writers have used in poetry- the stream of consciousness technique.
I put my pen to paper, call upon what I wish to make a sigil about, and let the pen create what I need.
These are the sigils that I use the most frequently (you may use them if you wish).
You may notice that my sigils in the form of arrows. Arrows are a symbolic representation of aiming and shooting for something, and I love the vertically long look because I like to draw these sigils on my forearms.
I created all of these with stream of consciousness drawing.
It is almost like a form of meditation for me. Allowing myself to simply create what I think âfocusâ or âprotectionâ looks like visually makes the end results beautiful and meaningful for me.
I do have a few running themes. Here are a few symbols I love to throw in.
These are used a ton in my art.
So here is a step by step of what to do-
1. Clear your mind for meditation. (Tip- if you have crystals that symbolize your intent, surround yourself with them. And example would be having a rose quartz for love on you or near you.)
2. Put your writing utensil to your paper. (I recommend using paper before digital.) Have your energy flow from your body to the focus of the tip of the pen/pencil, repeating the intent you wish the sigil to have.
3. Make a first draft of your sigil by allowing your hand to simply move as you think of your intent.
4. Make as many reiterations you wish until you have something you feel satisfied with. (Editing is a big part of writing as well.)
5. After a few tries making different sigils, make a list of your own common symbols you see popping up in your sigils.
And there you have it. If you are not comfortable, try mixing this technique with others to find what works best for you, or simply only use other techniques and make sigil arrows. I think using the look of an abstract arrow helps with directing intentions.
You can also request a sigil from me if you so choose in my inbox, for I shall be making them for anyone who asks for free.
I hope you find yourself using this technique of stream of consciousness to create wonderful sigils.

Thanks to contributors! And if you donât agree to this use, tell me and i will removed you of the post.
Warding and protection isn't so much about "witch wars" or whatever where you think someone is actively flinging curses at you. It's a way to make things calm and safe and less chaotic. It's easier to complete the task at hand from spell work to school work with out the psychic detritus distractions of everything else around you.
Hi, so I was wondering if you could tell me more about hellenism? I saw one of your post on my feed randomly and I'm interested in it all, but I don't know where would be a good place to start learning about it all, especially since religion and I haven't gotten along well in the past, though that was mostly because of people, but I'd like to learn more and make sure I do so in a respectful way
Hey! Thanks for reaching out! This is such a challenging question to answer, and I hope that I can do it justice.
First, Hellenism (or Hellenismos) is a revived Ancient Greek religion, which has changes made to it so it suits modern times. Followers of this faith worship the Hellenic Pantheon (the Greek deities, like Zeus and Apollo). Much of modern worship includes giving offerings, devoting activities, and praying to the theoi. There isnât any requirement for who you should worship, but many people have a specific few deities that they worship most often. Some people (like myself) have one main deity, who they identify most with, or choose to work with most because it makes it more manageable (this works especially well for those that are disabled or have fatigue issues, like myself). Some people will have specific deities âjump outâ at them, others will choose who to worship based on their interest. For myself, Apollo came to me through signs, but I chose Ares because I thought we would work well together.
One of my favorite parts of this religion is the fact that there are no âsinsâ, there are no harmful social constructs (think purity culture), and there is no application of shame in order to control behavior. This is where I find this religion is different than some others that I have been exposed to in the past. There are a few tenets to Hellenism, which basically water down to âbe a good personâ. Some of those tenets include virtues like moderation, reciprocity, and self-control. Another of my favorite parts is the full acceptance of all people, no matter their gender identity, sexuality, race, etc. You can pretty much find a deity that aligns with any of the main gender identities and sexualities that are known today. Because you have had bad experiences with religion in the past, there will be a phase of âunlearningâ. Just know that the gods are extremely patient and forgiving, and they will not punish you for being human.
If this seems like something you want to try, I recommend doing some research on the gods. Theoi.com is the most well known source. Learn about the gods and their associations, and see if you feel drawn to any of them. If you feel drawn to one specifically, do deeper research on them. Itâs going to seem overwhelming at first (especially if you come from a monotheistic religion) but you will find your place quickly.
It is very difficult to explain such a complex topic in only a few paragraphs, so I hope my answer gives you a bit of guidance. If you have any other questions, donât hesitate to ask!

Ways to Honor Loki
Hereâs a list of things Iâm starting to do for myself that also honors Loki! Feel free to use any of these for yourselves. :)
1. Do the Harder Thing.
If faced with two potential decisions, I now try to go for the harder but ultimately more rewarding option, which Iâm not naturally inclined to do. This is especially helpful if long-term goals keep falling to the wayside!
2. Speak where you might be silent.
Fear often stays my tongue, but for no good reason. Now I try to speak up when I want, and share what I want, and do the things I want that fear would otherwise stop me from doing.Â
3. Take the wheel.
This oneâs actually developed out of necessity of working with Loki. My lifeâs been in chaos, but I can either flounder in the waves or ride out the storm. Iâd rather do the latter, even if itâs hard. See item 1.
4. Face the Unknown.
There are a lot of things I donât know how to do, but when the time comes to do it, that shouldnât stop me.
As far as Iâm concerned, itâs damn near impossible to remain stagnant with Loki around, and itâs bitten me in the ass when Iâve tried. Figured itâd be better if I started to make the moves before he does!
Do you ever just think of something
and you can feel Loki over your shoulder going:
âDo it.â
