i love this anon because he is one of the few willing to be honest. he didn't say "*people* hate you for being a trans man" or "you're oppressed for being a trans man". his problem is, specifically, with trans women, and he has no qualms admitting that. yeah i'm not surprised to learn no woman has ever liked you.

great tags by @closet-keys , and i'll add that, when i got this anon, to me it felt like yet another instance of assuming that whenever a man says something against misogyny it must be because he wants something in return from women (implied: usually sex, though not exclusively). these guys truly CANNOT comprehend i use this blog to post things i earnestly think -up to and including when i post about transfeminism- no matter how many times i say it (funnily, i've talked semi regularly with a grand total of ONE person i met on tumblr, it's simply not what i use this site for). either way, it is frankly a sad indictment on how their relationships with women must operate that they cannot conceive someone just. caring about this stuff.

Venus looked her over and shook her head. “Am I dreaming?” she asked, her voice quiet.
“I don’t think so,” Lou said, but she’d been wrong before. If they were in Venus’s dream, Lou hoped that she’d wake up soon.
“I dreamed about you. All the time,” Venus said. Lou pulled her aching knees up so that Venus could sit back on the couch. “The longer it’d been, the worse they got. At first, somebody would come back from the wastes with a single little red boot, or a checked bra, or a little bitty calf bone that I just knew was yours.”
She stared up into space as she spoke, and shuddered. Lou drew the blanket up under her armpits. It felt strange to be inside, especially in such a heavily decorated space, after being away for so long. The walls loomed on either side of them and kept the air still. The curtains didn’t so much as twitch.
“Then, you started coming back, but you weren’t right. You’d show up at my door just after sunset, your hat pulled low over your eyes. And I could never get you to smile, even to talk. You would be pale and languid and gaunt, and then I’d notice that you wouldn’t come inside, and you had blood around your mouth and under your nails, or you’d have no feet, or you’d just be gone again when I turned back, and I wouldn’t know if I was dreaming or not.”
Lou looked down at her bloody-looking fingertips.
“But even in my worst dreams,” Venus said, looking over her shoulder at her, “you never once looked this bad, baby.”
This theme has not gotten a lot of discussion as I’ve been desperately begging people to read this over the years, but with this finale, I really wanted to remind everyone that this is story is for “first draft” children whose parents go on to have a successful second go at a new family.
Obviously, irl, this is *usually* a dad thing, but due to the nature of my work, even women can do this #feminism
This is an ancient tactic to handwave feminism in all forms since the beginning of time. "I wont take this feminism stuff seriously until a man tells me how it is." What makes this exceptionally transmysoginistic is that trans women are expected to engage with this criticism like its actually about inclusivity, and not just boring ass regular laughed-out-of-the-room misogyny.
They evolved to handle different prey. the larger crusher claw cracks open ahrder prey like a molar tooth, whilst the smaller pincer claw rips apart soft prey similar to an incisor tooth.
Instead of doomscrolling lately I have been reading my PDFs and it turns out if you do this you learn a whole bunch of stuff. I’m afraid I must recommend it
