I think we, as a fandom, do not acknowledge how fucked up and borderline torturous it is that Jason is expected to live in the same city as the Joker.

In almost every Fic where he reconciles and “recovers” and refrains from killing and all of that bullshit that fundamentally changes him as a person. He’s told the Joker is in Arkham and that is the best he’ll ever get.

Arkham. Fucking Arkham. Arkham that the Joker walks in and out of like it’s his holiday house.

Jason is expected to live and function in Gotham with the knowledge that the Joker could come after him once again, if he wanted to.

Jason wanting to be free from his murderer is not selfish. It’s not asking too much.

Jason wants to be safe, and saying he should live in Gotham while the Joker is still alive is so far from that it isn’t funny.

Jason Todd is the victim. He’s just not the type of victim people like to talk about.

I don’t understand the take that Percy failed Nico or didn’t try or in some way he didn’t do what he was meant to in regards to Nico.

Nico was never Percy’s responsibility.

Percy, at the of TTC takes the prophecy because he feels guilty about Bianca and Nico losing his sister. He goes after Nico because he feels guilty for Bianca’s death. He was actively told not to, no one was encouraging him or making Nico Percy’s responsibility. Percy took responsibility because he felt guilty, but that’s just Percy’s perspective on it. Nobody else believed Percy was guilty, but Percy.

Percy, in the original series, did so much for Nico. Even after Nico shouted that he wanted him dead and sent monsters after him, even after he believed Nico wanted to trade his soul for his sister, he still looked for him. He still tried to help, because that’s who he is as a character. Feeling responsible and being responsible are two very different things.

Percy was fourteen years old, when Bianca died. Fourteen. None of it ever should’ve been on him. He watched two people die and watched a council of gods debate on if he was worthy of keeping alive, only to be taken back and given the responsibility of telling Nico about his sister, who he’d just watched die infront of him. He was also passively suicidal throughout the whole book. I actually feel like this book is the best one in regards to a focus on just Percy and his own emotions and dealing with everything. He was given space to be angry and hurt and scared over Luke, when in every other book he has to shape his feelings about Luke around Annabeth, because she only sees things from her own perspective.

Yes, Percy has failings, just as every human does. But he never failed Nico, not really.

Nick deserved better, but so did Percy.

I’m sorry but any Batman fanon that has Jason closer than cordial with Tim is immediately a no for me. Because even putting aside the fact that their personalities pre-52 just don’t mesh well, there’s no coming back from “I died and my dad erased all evidence of my life, then I came back to find out that a rich nepo baby brute-forced his way into my spot, covered up my death and took credit for the last three years of my public life, and has been shit-talking me for getting murdered.” Even being distant coworkers with that guy seems like it’d take an enormous amount of restraint.

The fact that Percy got kidnapped by Hera just 2 months after the battle of Manhattan haunts my every waking moment. He was so full of hope at the end of The Last Olympian. He was finally able to see a future for himself, for camp, beyond the Great Prophecy and he was able to enjoy it a total of Two. Fucking. Months. He spent more time getting ready for war. He is 16!!!!!!! Leave him alone!!!!!!

if demigods were allowed smart phones the very first contact percy would make with any of the greeks in SoN would be sending thalia a video of him using the 12th legions eagle to shoot lightning and smirking into the camera. no words spoken. no context given. she's crushing her phone in her hand as she watches it.

tim is one of the most mediocre DC heroes ever. not to say he is unskilled, I wont deny that he is an incredibly talented individual. however, there is not one thing he can or has done that another gotham based vigilante cannot or has not done better. this goes for his hacking skills, easily trumped by babs. his combat skills as he has been defeated by i think everyone (?) in the batfamily at least once. adaptability wise and his desire to make gotham better, duke has been shown to adjust quicker to new challenges and help others with no training and without the same brand of batman idolization. his proficiency with weaponry outside of his staff, when jason uses one of the widest arrays of weaponry out of all of them. his detective skills, which i personally havent seen as proven beyond the skills of literally any of the others. his heroism and need to help others is not a fundamental part of his being when compared to steph, who became a vigilante by her own means and with limited supply with the will to help. his leadership skills are bested by both dick and bruce. his willpower, where helena is consistently more driven and determined than hes ever been. even his flare is bested by jason, helena, and dick. empathy, understanding, humanity skills, all things that cass has proven to value and practice more than tim. the whole argument for tim being the best robin, the best hero, the best vigilante, is just fundamentally incorrect when he's not the best at anything. so, no, not unskilled. hes still given an amazing display in all of these areas, he just simply isnt what DC has tried to build him up to be, and not what fans have mistaken him for.

that was a kid who wanted to do what was right and starting to figure out batman and robin weren’t enough to do that. the boy was gonna be revolutionary he didn’t need to die to be interesting

i love when fanfics highlight the jaybin "i chose not to save him" and batman "thats as good as killing him" situation with felipe garzonas ESPECIALLY when bruce chose not to save jason after slicing his throat open and the building explodes so jason just 100% believes that bruce supports that loophole and therefore jason believes that bruce knew he would be attempting to kill jason by choosing not to save him
