Name: Argus Filch
Age: 33ish
The part of themselves they want to show the world: Argus Filch does not want to be Perceived™️ / Gus wants the whole goddamn world of witches and wizards to know that he’s right and their whole system is the worst, and he wants them to know that he hates them, and he wants them to know that it all mattered, that he matters.
The part of themselves that they want to hide from the world: Gentleness – the world has been unkind to Argus, and he is prone to cruelty and callousness, and he really believes that because his life has been hard, everyone’s life should be made just as hard, and yet… He loves, deeply, his non-magical compatriots, and his cats, and anyone else who breaks through to his warm beating heart. Ugh! Awful!
Their views on blood politics/purism: Stupid! They’re all the same in Gus’s eyes – from Muggleborn to pureblood, they’re all just a load of magical morons drawing arbitrary lines to him, obsessed with creating hierarchies where there are none.
Their views on magical supremacy overall: “If magical supremacy has a million haters, then I'm one of them. If magical supremacy has one hater, then I'm that one. If magical supremacy has no haters, that means I'm dead.”
Their views on technomancy: Cautious, but down to try anything – listen, magic is not usually something that Gus fucks with, but he’ll make exceptions for things that might help him break stuff.
Character parallels: Jayne Cobb (Firefly) Jason Todd (Batman) Stephen Hyde (That 70s Show)
Name: Peter Pettigrew
Age: 25
The part of themselves they want to show the world: Oh, that’s just old reliable Peter, right? Always there, always eager, the ultimate hype man. It often feels to Mr. Pettigrew like a very nice fiction, but there’s still a version of the little rat that likes to make people feel good and important and loved. When you’re with Wormtail, the world revolves around you!
The part of themselves that they want to hide from the world: Wormtail is more secret than man these days, an anxious mess of a thing that feels swallowed by his cowardice and the single simple truth of him: he believes in nothing, stands for nothing, and wants nothing but to live, no matter what it takes.
Their views on blood politics/purism: It’s not a priority for Pete. Truly, he just does not give a single shit about it one way or the other. He has individual affection for various Muggleborns and various purists, but does not expand to think about these beliefs in any “big picture” way.
Their views on magical supremacy overall: Muggles are the worst, magical people are the worst, everyone is awful all the time, who cares about any of it? – Peter Pettigrew, 1985 / He probably does have some amount of magical supremacy in his mindset, as magic is the thing that connects him to the rest of the world in his eyes
Their views on technomancy: Let’s be honest, Wormtail is a corpo loser, though he’s generally not hugely into the technomancy stuff. The invasion of privacy stuff is… not something he loves.
Character parallels: George Costanza (Seinfeld) Boromir but only when he’s Ring-mad (LOTR) Fear (Inside Out)
Lucas and Erica Sinclair, MVPs.
