People: Hey, Witcher, will you help us with this fucked-up situation?
Geralt: That is a fucked-up situation indeed. Would you consider applying some ethics?
People: No.
Geralt: :(
People: Anyway, Witchers are emotionless monsters.
#no see though #this explains it perfectly #contractors get construed as mean or insensitive by clients all the time for being told they must compromise to get the job done #Geralt pointing out that like to get rid of the monster you need to 1) pay him and 2) face your unspeakable community crimes #is like a contractor telling a client 'the standard rate is a living wage' and then needing to compromise on design or requirements #bc they're not feasible or would result in harm or will not get the job done #witcher #the gig economy is HELL!
You can’t hide commentary this good in the tags @betterbemeta.
im pretty limited in my witcher knowlege and even i know that a good chunk of witcher related monsters are dirrectly caused by shit like improper burial of the dead, the rape of nature, flipping off local spirits, or being complete assholes to people who will eventually become undead because of it the witcher is literally saying ‘you want orcs? because this is how you get orcs’ to people who are in the process of dumping pig carcasses in the sacred spring because its easier then burying them
wow it’s almost as if the witcher is a criticism of modern culture, which exploits and extorts nature’s beauty and harms the weak and oppressed systemically and blames them for all the world’s problems
