Happy to help find a way around any shitty canon endings/fates. Been there.
Era of English will vary by mood, lots of random myths and history will be cited, generally don't expect this to always make sense.
18+ ONLY, no exceptions
No NSFW (in-universe: Widowed, don't even think about it)
Obviously no hate, bigotry, TERFS, trumpers, Zionists, or weird "neo- anglo-saxon/viking" white supremacist shit. Also no ship war stuff, and no pseudoarchaeology.
Angst/whump ok. Hells, I'll do my best to patch up your character if your show killed them or something
Any and all versions of Grendel welcome- Son Boy(gn) Allowed
Wes Hæl.
Best speak of myself a bit as I would be known to yall. I will try to make my speech as yours so you may well read it. The poets called me Grendel's Mother and truly he is my son, first of my children, and he is a good thing for this world to have, hear you that. He is a giant, otter-furred and elkstag-horned, devil-blooded, of strange power and like myself cursed by blood, our forefather Cain. If you harm my son I shall make my knife's blade your last breath and meal alike- for it will go through all the parts your throat. You understand me?
To speak more of that first-father of ours, Cain- I'm sure yall know him, and understand what of his curse men speak of. To wander, never to settle. There's an other side to that- to belong nowhere is to belong to places between, and to roam freely through them. In older-speaking, "Mark" not only was a sign or brand, but also the bounds of a land, the places between such bounds - unmanned land, unturned and unwilling- and such lands between all bounds. "Liminal" is your word now, in some ways. However it is seen on us or around us, the Mark is Cain's Kin's curse and duty to hold. Man's-earth gains much from our guarding it- kill us, see, and you'll have dragons' cinder-breath on your cities soon, and your eras come to an end. And some it may interest that as the Mark bounds Man's-earth from all others, we would neither Heaven nor Hell let pass through to turn Earth's fate to themselves- know you that well, if you've watched Heaven and Hell's tries at world-ending these past twenty years. Their feud we've well stopped from touching much soil.
My cave-hall is open to any with cunning to find it- to they that will to flee their first story-homes, where made they were and yet those writing named for them an evil fate, and to those who yet unfleeing their lands still for strangeness or sorrow seek such aid, to those who seek oldest of books and least-known of old tales, or but would speak with a thing much strange as mine self. Come in, the hearth is warm.
