It's been a while. Work has begun and I've been finding time to take care of myself. September is always busy, so there may have been days I was off but all in all I'm pushing through and enjoying the fruits of my labor!
Bummed but not bummed!
Came back from vacation. Time to weigh in! 3.6lbs up! Sucks, I know.. I worked out everyday too. Did 2 mile walks everyday at a quick pace. I'm guessing it was the extra carbs I ingested but hey it was my vacation. So I was pretty upset but I didn't feel I gained, so I measured myself. It had been like 2 weeks since I did that. I'm happy to say that this has shown more progress. I'm 3inches down on my hips, 2.5 inches down on my waist, 4inches down on my chest, my arms and legs are now even about 1-2 inches down there as well!! Now that I'm back to my normal diet, I'm hoping to drop that 3.6 and keep losing.

Road trip + bad choices = major tummy troubles!
Ugh this is what people must be talking about. After almost a month of eating more clean than normal and with less carbs, this first part of the road trip was fried everything. I was sick!! Too sick!! Like my stomach wanted to fight and to be honest I couldn't eat anything. I forced myself to eat that fried oyster and cod. But geeze Louise I was sick. My husband was even worried and had to drive my new car! My body wanted something green and I can tell you there was none. My fault really. I didn't think ahead. But most important I don't want to feel sick and it was almost like my body has become allergic to that many starchy carbs. On top of that I haven't had any water. Needless to say, today will be a normal eating day. I will be avoiding what makes me sick.
On the run and forgot my snack
I've been out and about and generally I bring a snack or make sure to eat before going out. However this week has been crazy. Today I forgot to bring a snack and I was starving. The only thing around had crazy carbs but I could afford it at the time. So I ate. Later I went to my moms and did okay but then dessert came. I took a small portion and add a dollop of whipped cream and I felt pretty confident in myself. But geeze! Later, my stomach was/is still in Knots! I was in a sugar high and Overall I feel sick! I can't believe how bad I feel. Tomorrow is another day and I will be making sure to stick to my low carb diet. I do not like the way I feel.

Bad week or learning about myself?
So I'm having a hard time this week. Eating wise. I've been on walks, hikes and spending time doing these things with people I love. However, one day I went over everything. I binged. I was sooo hungry, more so than I've ever been and I made poor choices (I ate v fan chocolate muffins and a slice of my keto bread). I felt horrible;but I realized I had just done a 2mile hike and I did not properly nourish myself. Today was my father in laws birthday and I caved. We went out, I did not order a deep fried dish (it seemed to be all they had...almost) I had a turkey burger. It came with fries, I did not finish it all and shared with my mother in law. A first for me. The bread even tasted a bit funny. I haven't had any bread like that since starting. It was surprising. I also had cake. It was 😋! I only had one slice. Another first! At home I had left over chicken, my favorite Trader Joe's broccoli and cauliflower patty and a hot pocket looking thing. I'm not sure what it was but it was good. It wasn't my best day but I did notice a change in my eating habits. I'm sorta proud of myself. I didn't beat myself up over it. In fact I continued on. I went down to my basement and jumped roped for about 10min. I raised my heart rate and felt good. I won't beat myself up over this. I was celebrating and I did not over indulge.
Tried a new recipe tonight (link below) and was pleasantly surprised! I made Lemon Butter Chicken with a side of cauliflower mash. The chicken was really good, particularly the sauce you make with it. I also really enjoyed the mash, which I actually found in the frozen section of Publix (it was the Birds Eye vegetables brand). So this is what 7.1lbs looks like! My chest and arms look different. Its only been 2 weeks but these little changes are huge for me!

Macros: Cal: 110 Net carbs: 12g Protein: 3g I got this from Whole Foods today. Which was great because I’ve been craving chocolate and something bready sooo bad. This was made with almond flour and a bunch of wonderful ingredients.

Eating to heal
I’ve been in pain for some time and finally I caved. I got an appointment to take one of my wisdom teeth out. So far they’ve come in and no big deals. But this one was a partial and I could tell something was not right. Turns out it was infected. So I got that sucker out. Now begins the dental diet. I’m only allowed to eat soft foods. Which means my low carb diet is possibly going to de railed after a successful first week. I mean how many soft foods can you think of that are low carb? The dentist kept mentioning mashed potatoes, pasta, puddings. Things that are convenient but not necessarily healthy. I someone managed to eat low carbs , while still meeting my calorie intake (so my body doesn’t think it’s starving myself.) I’m a little worried because my protein was really high this week. The yogurts, and pudddings and string cheese were really good on that they we all low carb but very high in protein. I’m hoping that this won’t affect my scale. I'll find out tomorrow.
Temptation
I’m on a low carb diet. Which means I’m avoiding bad carbs. Bread, donuts, anything high processed. Well my in laws showed up and what did they bring… DONUTS!! 6 of them! Ugh I wanted so bad to eat them. They were soooo delicious looking too. I know, I know, I could probably take a nibble and satisfy the craving. But I know, from past changes, that that would lead to a downward spiral! My father in law would say, “oh it’s just a day” but it’s not just a day. It’s my life and the fact of the matter is, I fail every time I bend. It takes 1 month to make this life style change normal. I’m only on week 2. If I bend, one day is a complete re start! One that would probably start when I realize that I’m at a bad stage in life. So, what did I do? I politely thanked him (he didn’t have to and it was a nice gesture) but said I’d just eaten and will have some later. I offered him and my mother in law instead. They had some, and when they left…I dumped them in the trash!!! I survived and I ate my KETO friendly snack instead.

I bought a jump rope!! I'm not sure why I'm so excited for it. But I tried it out and realized that I haven't jumped rope since I was 7! Haha! Needless to say, I'm out of practice.
