People talk a lot about the pipeline between the 2000s-era ‘nu-atheist’ movement and alt-right fascism, and for good reason, but there needs to be more attention paid to the pipeline between hippy-dippy crystal-and-moonbeams credulous New Agers and far-right conspiracy-theorist loons, because honestly I’ve encountered a lot more of those people in the past little while.

I know it’s not, like, surprising, but tumblr’s way of identifying how Christianity has especially negative social consequences because of how hegemonic and entrenched it is where they live, but somehow failing to draw the conclusion that maybe other religions might have that privilege and position in other cultures and be used for the same purposes is just.
