tamlin and rhysand on the catwalk for mr prythian 2025
Let me get this straight.
Feysand is supposed to be beauty and the beast or hades/persephone.
Nessian is taming of the shrew.
So elriel is????? Snow White? Perhaps sleeping beauty?
I don't think I can sleep tonight.

Today I learned Illyrian's were a historical people group.
They were an ancient group of Indo-European tribes who lived in the western Balkans (roughly modern-day Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and parts of Serbia) from at least the Bronze Age until their gradual assimilation under the Roman Empire.
The Romans fought several wars against them, and after Rome’s conquest in the 2nd century BCE, “Illyricum” became a Roman province. Over time, the Illyrians were absorbed culturally and linguistically into Roman society and eventually into the various populations of the Balkans.
SJM exploits real cultures, people groups, and pagan religions, stripping them of depth and turning them into distorted backdrops for her stories.
Rhys made Feyre a show for everyone under the mountain to maintain the facade that she's still weak and is under his control, to let people know she's a total puppet being used and is of no use to anyone.
Fair enough.
However,
Why didn't he at least acknowledge this part after they become friends? ACOMAF, to be precise. Nobody's telling you to apologize Rhys, because you were trying to keep her safe, right? But couldn't you show her, your fucking mate, some decency and let her know that at least it killed you to parade her like that? Let her effing know that you never wanted to use her like that?
Just comfort her, for, i don't know, for the simple fact you love her?

I'm so scared book 6 acotar is going to have a more modern setting and we're going to lose all the fantasy and the magic.
Like edison discovering the lightbulb or something, or maybe they're going to talk about a new banking system.
Forgive me if my interests are not your cup of tea, but I really like the medieval, fantasy, 15th century scenes I imagine in my mind.

Can the same not be said about elucien?
If they’re endgame why hasn’t Sarah confirmed it? After all, we already know that they’re mates. So what’s the big mystery?

Gwynriel have as much possibility of happening as Elriel, which is actually a point in favor for Gwynriel, because if Elriel was that obvious per the three books buildup, why the lack of confirmation from the author?
Every time she is asked about acotar 6, she says she can't say yet because she hasn't written it.
Why not say, "Elain, of course" if it's that obvious?
She already said we'll see Elain only in some form.
The Elriel buildup was there, but it was always Azriel yearning for Mor. When Elain was getting forced into the cauldron, Azriel didn't care, while Cassian crawled on the floor for Nesta.
Basically some buildup, but also some off putting stuff.
Gwyn has only a few interactions with Azriel, is such a new character, yet people saw chemistry and a connection enough to rival a ship with all that time.
But, I still say Elriel could still happen, mostly because sjm is spontaneous.

note: if the tagging bothers you, can't help it because this post both supports and discourages both elriel and gwynriel, not just the people but also the relationship dynamics.
Feyre has no obligation to help Nesta.
Nesta should've put her pride aside and done it herself. She is not the High Lady, Feyre is. Even in the new book, she lost the one person in the inner circle who would actually tolerate her.

I don't want to come off as rude to any gwynriels out there... but yeah, I think it's clear who's going to be next in line for a romantasy plot.
I don't make the rules. It would just exactly be sarah j maas' style to do so.

a lot of people would accept feysand more (and even love them) if sjm didn't pretend they are this perfect couple
i just made a modern AU rhysand POV moodboard
i repeat, this is not a typical moodboard. it's based on rhysand's "point of view"
and, it's also modern AU.
i even included his amarantha related nightmare.
i know it's not looking too aesthetic but i tried to keep it as real as i could with whatever pictures i found. you know, like real life isn't that aesthetic.
when feyre at #acofas or #acosf was handling court matters on her own, led meetings on her own, and rhys said he was proud of her.
that's nice and congratulation worthy for feyre, but on sjm's part, that was the most pretentious piece of girlboss fantasy escapism i have ever read. as if feyre's only goal in life is to become a girlboss.
sigh sjm why are you like this
it just hit me that we shouldn't forget that sjm uses feyre to introduce us to matters. in the process, feyre's character development gets butchered
a lot of people are hating on feyre and calling her shit at politics but if she was good, then this wouldn't be a young adult series in the first place. i guess feyre has to be confused or struggle at handling matters because again, if she wasn't then the reader wouldn't get a feel at how complicated matters are (for example, handling official court stuff)
it's only when she experiences emotion like annoyance or anger or confusion or etc. is what we finally understand what sjm wants us to understand and feel about that particular situation.
wait so basically does that mean this series is a self insert? am i going in the right track or am i confusing myself?
does anyone else think feyre overreacted when tamlin locked her in the house and she started rocking back and forth in between her knees?
wanting to escape that situation is one thing and fully understandable but absolutely despising tamlin for it was idk, a bit overdramatic?
like i wasn't surprised tamlin did it 'cause like he wasn't really the best of planners and he'd make rigid decisions and commands so like is there a point in hating him? in such a situation you're supposed to shake your head, sigh to yourself and make a plan for yourself to escape or move on.
what i'm trying to say is that feyre kept on recalling this memory and despising tamlin for this. she didn't have to forgive tamlin but she could like understand that he was being a bit whacky and leave it at that.
this absolute hate for tamlin just because he locked her up for a very temporary amount of time is idk...not feyre like? she's smarter than this though.
idk man, again, sjm sucks.
but i guess what sjm tried to portray is that the love of her life locked her up so that must mean she is in grave danger right now. like he is the most absolute trash and totally irredeemable. that kinda makes sense but honestly that doesn't equate fully to being an absolute trash.
feyre has the wits to understand that he was being stupid or stressed or ignorant but he wasn't being evil.
but she felt these feelings in that moment so can't blame her.
what i have a bone to pick with is: she kept on bringing this up again and again, later in the series. i know it's a plot idea to make rhysand have relevance in her life.
but come on is this not inconsistency on sjm's part?
or does feyre actually become a bit dumb when her lover is concerned in the matter?
i'm with the former.
High Lady Feyre
Now before anybody gets upset, there’s nothing wrong with Feyre as a character or concept—however, her being written in as High Lady was genuinely such a bad play.
We all know she saved Prythian, but the girl doesn’t even know how to read. She just learned to read and write and you’re going to tell me she’s supposed to be High Lady of one of the biggest territory in the Prythian?
Not only that but Feyre is only a good High Lady during times of war and I solely blame that on SJM’s inability of learning the politics she wrote in her book. Realistically, Feyre would’ve been HATED as High Lady, not only because her title was given to her on a whim but because she wouldn’t know anything diplomatic.
I would think Nesta or even ELAIN would be a better High Lady than Feyre. However, I’m not a debby downer, Feyre had potential to be a good High Lady if the books actually showed growth and foreshadowing towards her being High Lady instead of a warrior.
SJM wrote that in there purely for shock factor and left strings loose that brings in doubt towards Feyre being High Lady, then her stans get mad when you point it out.
Like no, me saying that Feyre isn’t a good High Lady doesn’t make me misogynistic, I’m genuinely just looking at the writing.
Feyre is a bad High Lady in writing, not because she didn’t do anything to earn the title, but because she’s good at fighting, she barely comprehends the politics.
I WAS WONDERING THE SAME THING LIKE COOPING UP DOING OFFICE WORK IS LIKE THE OPPOSITE OF FEYRE
she likes thinking about stuff and getting involved in decisions but not exactly being a leader like that because that would force her to make ultimate decisions when she'd rather not have that responsibility and continue to help in more matters with a peace of mind
she doesn't have leadership ambitions, she just wants to help people and offer ideas
sjm is always fumbling
