I’m going to be obsessing over this for a long time and I make no apologies for that. Because we got to see the boys at their absolute best, and with all the heart that is at the core of their relationship right alongside it.

Carlos, assessing the situation, being logical and trying to help himself. Even though he’s concussed and drugged he’s still trying to take Darryl down.

TK, spiralling but not falling. Reaching out for help from the 126, from Grace, from his in-laws. Focusing on the detail and working stuff out. Being able to be the paramedic and save Carlos’ life even though every part of him would be beyond terrified of losing him.

And all the way through - Carlos talking about his fiancé, about how much he loves TK. TK’s quiet terror at losing Carlos and his determination to keep Carlos alive until the narcan can arrive.

These boys have been tested, were tested again tonight, and will be tested in the future. But 4x04 shows us, them, even the crazy mom who loves the gays, that these two? They found their person. They have built this life and this love and they will stop at nothing to make sure that it’s protected.

Carlos was late getting home, but he was doing everything he could to get home to TK. And, just like TK in 3x13 with Cooper, Carlos needed a little help getting there tonight.

• Carlos seeing TK on the doorbell cam and *that's* when he really panics

• Andrea calling TK "mijo" and Gabriel calling him "son"

• TK trying to not have a panic attack while he listens to Gabriel and the detective talking about Carlos possibly being injured or dead from a carjacking and at the same time FINDING *THE* CLUE to lead them to the serial killer

• Carlos being so amazing and sweet and *Carlos* that Trudy tries to let him go

• TK having to perform CPR and rescue breaths on Carlos

• The Narcan injection parallel

• "It's yours."

• Gabriel knowing TK's fears might be true but helping him to keep going until they know for sure

• Concussed or drugged Carlos calling for TK as he's semi-conscious

Wow, that was a lot. Of course, I always want more but that was worth it. Worth the wait, lived up to the hype.

I'm so not sleeping any time soon.

This line took me out and came for my very soul. Because we have always known how much Carlos loves TK but to hear it like this? To know that even he doesn’t understand how he can love someone this much?

And then you think about young Carlos in a lavender marriage, thiking that he will never really be able to have a proper relationship or a marriage with a man, to be able to love another man so openly and completely. Now here he is telling the mother of a serial killer how much he loves this man, his fiancé, the man who has his life, the man whose heart he has?

God, present day Carlos really won’t be able to believe his life and he would never be able to explain it to the version of him who married his best friend because he thought he wouldn’t be able to have anything more.

Now he not only has it, but he has more than he knows what to do with. So he just loves TK.
