Art W.I.P

I designed all the cats.

These are my warrior cat oc for a fan comic I'd like to create one day. Based on an area where I grew up.

I started this initially to practice my art/help my stylization. So the final image might look wildly different.

However, I learned it also helps me figure out how my warrior designs wrap around the cats body. Who knew!?

Jokes aside, if you do a lot of designing characters and not much actual character drawing, this is a good exercise.

I recommend tracing over the reference photo and then trying to put your design on top of it. Though, I would try to find a reference that has a similar body type to your design. ONLY TRACE THE OUTLINE AND MAYBE SMALL FACIAL DETAILS (you don't have to listen to me)

I have a tendency of drawing the stripes around the base I use and it makes it tricky to translate. This exercise helped me view my design like a skin pelt and less like marking around a flat base. I like using bases to create my designs cause sometimes I just want to color, but I like having an outline.

Lastly, if you want to see more of my designs, I do more than just cats. I mainly do human/humanoids.

Leafpool's long con, and its accidental 2x combo.

This was definitely inspired by MacLeod Andrews's emphatic delivery of Leafpool announcing Jayfeather's full name in the audiobook. It's intended to sound emotional, but the tone was so triumphant that I couldn't help but think of her ulterior motives. Our girl deserves a win. Even if it is an incredibly silly one.

Also I get the feeling that some of you may be in need of a zoom-in of babiest baby Hollykit. This comic is really stupid but I still got a little emotional drawing the babies...

...Also, I think my favorite design here is actually Barkface?? I dunno I just like how he turned out. Speaking of designs, you may notice that some have changed slightly from the previous comic. I did some tweaking and hopefully these versions will stick.

MOON 1 [BONUS]

A bit of insight into the first few days after they settled, and before they met Stumppaw. A lot of conflicting feelings.

Locustflower had no real ability to go to the Singing Stone and speak with the Stars- she has no idea where it is exactly even- and despite efforts no Starclan cats would enter her dreams and help. So while Locustflower is considered leader, she has only 1 life and rejects the -star suffix. As the colony grows, she'll be refered to as Queen Locustflower.

Cats Shown: Locustflower - She/her - 38m - Tall grey-purple molly with cream patches. Ochrekit - Thon/She - 4m - Average pale yellow tabby and cream cat with bird skull. Sneezekit - She/her - 4m - Towering dusty white molly with grey tabby patches.
