I really hope you understand that..

I read a post about parents hitting their child as a way to discipline and how that is wrong because small kid doesn't associate being hit with the thing they did wrong. It was a great post and i reblogged it then moved on to scroll more. Few dog memes after there was a twitter post where they joked about out of nowhere urge to slap their brother. Being hit by a sibling can be as bad as being hit by a parent. Same with the mental abuse. Every kind of abuse in a family goes under domestic violence. Being hit by a sibling can cause a feeling of inferiority, mental unstability, aggressive behaviour outside of the family and many other things. Same things as with parents abusing their children. Often siblings hitting eachother is seen as a normal thing. This can cause troubles to both, the victim and the one who hits. The kid who has aggresive behaviour towards their siblings has a high risk of getting in trouble in the future. Everyones mental health is in danger in the families with domestic violence and it is not a joke.

I hope you understand the message I tried to get across, English is not my first-language so sorry about that.

Am I the only one who thinks that hitting a kid and abuse are different things? Like, if I ever had a kid, I wouldn’t spank their ass raw or something like that. But a bop on the mouth or the ear pull or a smack upside the head? Yea. Those are behavior modifiers.

Except they’re not.

The studies done by the trained psychologists in this joke show that little kids don’t associate being hit with the thing they’ve done wrong. Very small children only understand consequences that are directly caused by the thing they did. Steal a biscuit, biscuit tastes good. Then for no reason mummy hit me. Very different to stole a biscuit, now no biscuit after dinner because I stole a biscuit.

And they also show that when a child is old enough to understand why they are being hit that non-physical punishment is equally as effective and less mentally harmful in the long run.

Do you know who benefits the most from hitting as a punishment? The parent. It gives a satisfaction rush. Parents do it because it makes them feel good.

Basically kids have two stages: too young to understand why they are being hit so physical punishment is useless for anything other than teaching a child that bigger stronger people can hit you whenever they like (Which sounds like the same lesson you would learn from abuse)

And the second stage is old enough to be reasoned with so many punishment options are available and you chose physical violence because it makes *you* feel better, which is an abusive action.

The only time a person should ever use violence against another human being, of any age, is to stop that person from being violent themselves.

Hitting a stranger is a crime. Hitting someone small who relies on you for food, love, and shelter should be as well. Don’t hit your fucking kid.

Or was never missing.

Last week a post circulated on Swedish facebook about a missing person. Turns out the woman had changed her identity to get away from her abusive (ex-)husband. Now she has to go through it all again. The police went out and told people to fucking stop spreading posts like these without thinking, and to call the police if you see the person, not some random you’ve never met.

Just in case anyone wants the context: He has been making music in Chicago, he recently performed to a large audience and met London on da track, who offered him an opportunity in LA. She didn’t want to leave Chicago because of her business there. He told her that she doesn’t have to go, he just needs to do this for his music. She got upset because he straight up told her that he valued his career over their relationship and she did this.

Now I’m not a relationship expert, but I will never understand how some of y’all expect people to put you above the shit they have to do. Always put your career, your job, your livelihood first. This was all kinds of fucked up, really fucking abusive and manipulative, he should definitely go to LA with or without her.
