I think what’s wrong with a lot of people is they’re not eating breakfast. They’re starting the day with at most 16 ounces of milk with espresso and riding on that until lunch time. What they don’t understand is eating breakfast helps absorb all the excess yellow bile that builds up overnight when they sleep and makes them angry. It’s basic humor balancing

This may seem a bit odd and even macabre to modern viewers who don't know the thinking behind it.
Canaries were taken down coalmines because - in the days before gas detectors - they were much more sensitive to firedamp (explosive methane) than humans and would stop singing then fall over and maybe even die long before the miners could even smell the stuff,
Miners would try to save the birds as they fled from the area, either because a good sensitive canary was recovered if possible - because they were regarded as fellow workers.
Maybe Joe here saved lives and was being coffined as a hero - though why he wasn't also buried as a hero is another question entirely.

Not usually, no. They tend to lose some of their color when they’re preparing to molt and then come out looking more vibrant, but they typically don’t change colors completely. Banana Bread is just a very fashionable lobster I guess

Given the extreme stakes of Project 2025 I need everyone to vote Democrat downballot. Everyone. Bring your friends to the ballot box, make a day of it. Have voting parties. Anything to get people energized.
I am dead serious though. If you know or love an lgbtq+ person, or if you care about continuing to have a choice or ability to push for change in this country, you need to vote Democrat downballot. The leftmost candidates must win as many races as possible. We have to completely smash the Republicans at the ballot box to get a chance at establishing ranked choice, to get abortion rights back, to keep Trump from getting more Justices, to secure the right to protest, and to protect and improve democracy.
The only way to move the overton window left where we want it is to keep voting left, persistently, consistently, doggedly.
Please vote. I know you’re depressed about it. I am too, but we have to vote.
Make sure you’re registered, and vote on Nov 5th. If you are disabled or don’t have reliable transportation, see what the absentee ballot laws are in your state.

Yes, 100%, vote against Trump and especially against Project 2025. As the left gets more and more support, politicians will start shifting left to capture the vote. Better leftists will start to run and get funding, because they have a chance of actually getting elected. The Democrat/Independent MO is to run to the center every time the left loses, so we need to keep getting out there and voting.
But also, don't forget that at least domestically, Biden is one of the most liberal Presidents we have ever had. That's not saying much, given that the bar is on the floor, but it's still huge. For those who still think that Biden hasn't worked for marginalized communities, here is a very incomplete list of actions he has taken:
Executive order to correct discrimination in public housing
Hired the first ever Native Secretary of the Interior
Expanded child tax credit, resulting in a drastic reduction in Black childhood poverty
Expanded high-speed internet into marginalized and Tribal communities
Is in the process of eliminating lead pipes nationwide, a scourge that primarily impacts Black and Native communities
Prioritized the extension of small business loans to BIPOC business owners
Has set up policies that have helped close the income and wealth gap between Black and white people to the narrowest margin it has ever been. It still has a long way to go, but it's going in the right direction
Set up Emergency Rental Assistance to help prevent evictions from rental housing, which was affecting a disproportionate number of POC
Pushing regulatory agencies to eliminate racial bias in home appraisals - a HUGE problem nationally
Expanded PELL grants, which 60-75% of Black college students utilize to help fund their education
Invested billions in HBCUs
Terminated federal contracts with private prisons, an important step in reducing profiteering from mass incarceration that overwhelmingly targets POC
Nominated more Black women to federal courts than every other previous president combined
Has signed multiple executive orders to combat voter suppression, which primarily affects marginalized communities
Expanded healthcare access through the ACA, Medicare, and Medicaid, increasing Black healthcare coverage by 49%
Signed a number of co-stewardship agreements with Tribal leaders to begin increasing Native participation in management of federal lands
Prioritizing Native communities in replacing fossil-fuel run public transportation with EVs
Increased federal purchasing of supplies and services from Native producers
Personally hired a number of out queer people for important roles in the administration
Made anti-LGBTQ credit discrimination illegal
Reversed Trump's anti-queer policies - too many to list
Banned discrimination against queer people in healthcare (previously legal if the provider claimed a religious excuse)
Extended Title IX protections to queer students (currently blocked in 4 states by a judge)
Pushed to eliminate minimum age requirements for gender affirming care (currently undergoing legal challenge)
Created an "X" gender marker for US passports
Expanded Social Security survivor benefits to cover queer couples, even those not married
This was all with a Republican congress and Supreme Court supermajority Think what his administration could do if we all voted left down ballot, and he wasn't fighting a hostile congress!
Change happens slowly. But it won't happen at all, or at least not in the good direction, if we don't make it supremely clear what we want, by pushing left in every election. National, state, local.
