started this edit soooo long ago and totally lost motivation. Kinda just needed to post it to take the pressure off so I can work on all my other ideas. I will prolly go back and finish it at some point. But I'm still proud of it :)))

“You really didn’t need to snap at Cap like that.”
It took Eddie a second to realize that Ravi was talking to him, not immediately looking up from where he was shoving his worn clothes back into his duffel.
“Huh?”
“Yeah. You were kind of brutal with him, Eddie,” Buck tossed over his shoulder before pulling a shirt on.
“When?” Eddie racked his brain trying to figure out when he could have snapped at Chimney and nothing was coming to mind.
Ravi scoffed as he picked up his own duffle. “At that last call, man. You totally chewed him out.”
Eddie blinked. Their last call has been a rough one, where they all had arguing about how to best get access to the victim. Eddie hadn’t thought had been more forceful with Chim than anyone else had, but it seemed he might have misjudged it.
He watched Ravi sling the strap of his duffel over his shoulder, his expression softening just a little as he headed for the door with a wave back at them over his shoulder. Leaving just him and Buck in the locker room.
And Buck had that look on his face that reminded Eddie of a dog with a bone, which usually meant Eddie was about to get an earful. Which Eddie didn’t usually mind, but with the way his hands were itching to practice knots, he wasn’t quite sure if he wanted to know what it was. Buck looked around the locker room before plopping himself on the bench next to Eddie.
“Are you going to tell me what’s up with you?” Buck asked, leaning down to tie his shoe.
Eddie just shrugged. “Nothing, really. It was just a long shift, I guess.”
Buck was nodding along. “Sure was. If I ask you a question, will you be honest with me?”
“Obviously,” Eddie said with a roll of his eyes. If there was one person he was fully honest with, it was Buck. It would always be Buck.
“When was the last time you scened?”
Eddie opened his mouth, but nothing came out. Because he didn’t have a real answer for Buck, not one that Buck would like.
But it seemed like his nonanswer was exactly what Buck was expecting, because he just nodded. “Yeah, that’s what I thought. Since Marisol, really?”
He couldn’t help but to nod.
Buck groaned, leaning back on the bench. “That was almost two years ago, man. How have you not gone out of your mind?”
He didn’t tell Buck that two years was nothing compared to his previous dry spells. “I’ve been getting by.”
“Doing what?” It wasn’t accusatory but laced with genuine concern.
“The usual self tasks.” Buck just raised a brow. Dog with a bone. Eddie sighed, and gave him the answer he was actually after. “Practicing knots, cleaning and oiling any of my leather equipment, working out a lot.” Eddie stood and shut his locker, hoping to get out of this conversation. “The chaos of the last two years has taken up a lot of my energy, so it’s not like I’ve really needed it.”
“Eddie,” Buck said softly behind him. “I think you do need it.”
“It’s not like I can just go pick up a sub, Buck. You know I don’t like the clubs.” And it wasn’t a flimsy excuse, Eddie had never been able to connect with a sub casually. There needed to be a pre existing foundation of trust between him and a sub for his dom instincts to really take hold.
“What if you don’t need to pick up a sub?”
Eddie put a hand on his hip, his eyebrow raising to his hairline. “You know a sub who is single and willing?”
“Yeah.” Buck smiled then, pearly whites gleaming and his eyes so blue and bright. “Me.”

on the one hand i super do not like the concept of buck getting custody of his bio kid who is not actually his kid, but on the other hand connor and kameron do strike me as the kind of people who would put his name down as the kid's guardian without asking (and it would be sort of morbidly hilarious if this happened to him TWICE)

#2 is where we start to question a little bit. But the answer remains the same. That is a hoodie.
#3 is not difficult at all. That is a jumper. NOT A SWEATER. A sweater is not ugly unless it is a christmas sweater that is intended to be ugly. That third one is a jumper (or a pullover if you want to be different).
no i dont see that because i like to think the story i see in canon can still make a lot of sense for gay eddie and buddie so if i believed your interpretation that would mean he’d just wake up one day changed and it would happen out of nowhere randomly. i think it’s a very boring read to have on his sexuality and his love life to think that there’s no canon explanation possible for his closet and that if they ever made him gay in canon in his thirties it wouldnt matter to him at all and he would go on having zero issues with it (and buck and eddie are two different characters. what makes sense for buck doesnt for eddie and vice versa)
does it help or make it worse if i tell you i think eddie is also bisexual
eddie doesnt know he likes men because firstly his wife got hit by a car and died after abandoning him and asking for a divorce and also he truly and fundamentally believes that he would be more virtuous and a better father if he did not want anything from anyone and he and buck already have all the emotional intimacy and partnership that would be reserved for a romantic relationship without him even needing to consider his sexuality. buck didnt know he liked men because he would rather maim his best friend and consider stealing fentanyl than look inward
and there are plenty of tortured self hating gay guys in media like you can just go find a guy who is exactly what you want. you dont have to put eddie in a box that doesnt fit him.
