I promise to try my best not to pick it up after giving it to You; trusting that You will not withhold any good thing from me for Your Word declares that it is the "Father's GOOD pleasure to give me the Kingdom!" Word on my heart. It would be so great if we could all take a moment to pray over the country we're living in. To pray God's peace and protection over it. If you're a prayer warrior, it would be awesome if you would join us in praying for our world as a whole - for God's protection over every continent, nation and city. If you still have prayer in you like we do, can you extend a prayer to Israel, Nigeria, South Africa, America, Europe, the several hundreds of those who capsized into the Mediterranean sea, ISIS situation, Hoko Baram and any other organisation that intends evil. Lift up a prayer for those in prison / persecution of any kind, and that the chains be broken in the Name of Jesus. Let's declare Jesus over our world. Let's proclaim that God still reigns and sits on the throne. Let's decree that what the enemy meant for evil, God will turn it around for good. Let's stand alongside our brothers and sisters and stir up a faith within us so mighty that the mountains that stand in their way have to move in the Name of Jesus. And like "God so loved the world" (which is us), let us echo God's heart by loving our world, believing that Love will prevail in the end. Been asked by the team to write on singleness. Probably because the rest of the team are not, and we are all aware of the fact that there are many single people in our world today... But this is specifically for single Christians. The one thing I am learning in this season is to learn to be content in Him (1 Corinthians 7). My life is not defined by my 'relationship status'. That is something I sense God wants us to let sink deep within. Our lives are defined by Him who paid the ultimate price for us on that cross. Everything else given to us is a bonus. That does not mean that I don't want to get married; I do, but I first need to find contentment solely in Him, Jesus Christ. Guarding your heart comes in handy with this, even though we should guard our hearts in & above everything (Proverbs 4:23). And often times it means allowing God to respond on our behalf to the comments from those we love (although they mean well) when they ask, 'why are you not married?' Secondly, as I was asking God for that lifetime companion, He reminded me that I already have one with Him. We are His bride. Am I acting like I am married to Jesus first and foremost? Do I communicate with Him frequently? Listen to Him? Serve Him unconditionally? Obey and submit? Our first love should be Him. That's not to say that we shouldn't have desires - I strongly believe if you want to be married, God placed that desire within you - but you have to be honest with yourself - is your desire for a spouse stronger than your desire for Him? Next thing was to allow God through the Holy Spirit to do an internal work in me. To heal me from past hurts and pains so that they do not prevent me from giving my heart to someone else. The last thing I want to do is inflict my pain onto someone else who has done nothing to deserve it. To do that, we need to give God our hearts fully. FAITH... Bishops TD Jakes preached on #FaithHopeLove, and used1 Corinthians 13:13 as his frame. That in that verse, God says "3 things remain - Faith, Hope & Love, but the greatest of these is Love." He referred back to John 10:10a which states that "the thief (devil/enemy) comes to steal, kill & destroy..." #BUTGod... God's always one step ahead! To guard our hearts well, we need to guard our faith, hope and love in Jesus well so as not to falter. Note the word in 1 Cor 13:13, #remain. It means #abide, #stay. Abide in God with your faith, hope and His love for you; stay in God. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." ~ Hebrews 11:1. Keep believing! 👊 xox
