Responses we’ve gotten so far: “I feel it constantly demeans us and only demonstrates that opinions towards dark skinned women have not changed. I find it especially disheartening when I hear other blacks making such comments. It is ignorance, fueled by a eurocentric standard of beauty that seeks to demolish any self-esteem that black women have and uphold the oppressive racial status quo”. “People are entitled to their opinions….their opinions doesn’t mean its what is right or true. I feel a person should wear WHAT they want, HOW they want. To me it is an expression of your own unique ART.
