Im out of work for the next two months due to my fibromyalgia keeping me from working and now my grandmother suffers from dementia so I have to be her caregiver 24/7. I will most likely have to quit my job so I can take care of her. sometimes when people call someone talking about their personal experiences with bigotry a "discourse shark fin" it pisses me off because it just shows they aren't paying attention. if you think a wheelchair user talking about being pushed without consent is a "discourse shark fin" it just tells me you've never talked to a wheelchair user. if you talked to wheelchair users you would know this isn't "discourse" but real world bigotry we face all the time- you're just privileged enough to be able to ignore it and brush it off as "discourse."

me/cfs awareness day (& month). i am very aware, i have severe ME. id like to make some informative post but i cant. but i can tell you what an average day looks like for me.

when i wake up i take my morning meds, i am in a dark and quiet room. i lie in bed until i feel well enough to get to the bathroom with the help of a mobility aid. i don’t turn on the light in there. if i feel well enough i will grab something to eat that doesn’t require preparation. i got back to my bed.

if i feel well enough, i can have music playing on low volume, usually meditation music, skyrim ambience or other music im very familiar with. i am laying in bed, in a dark, often quiet room.

i don’t eat lunch, it takes too much energy. i lay in bed, in a dark & quiet room. i scroll social media, i have colour filters and other accessibility features on my phone so i can tolerate the screen. i take my mid day meds.

if i feel well enough, i grab something from the kitchen to eat for dinner, something that requires little to no preparation. if im feeling more well than usual i can turn on the tv in the bedroom to play my favourite show; the volume and brightness are very low, but most of the time i still can’t look at the screen, but i can listen. the accessibility features aren’t as good as on my phone.

i take my night meds, i get to the bathroom if i can. i am scrolling social media if i can. otherwise ill just try to sleep.

sometimes i have good days, and ill overdo it & get PEM. sometimes i dont do anything, and still get PEM.

i am one of the millions missing.

do people realise that being disabled in a community of other disabled people that you will know someone who was killed or assaulted or abused for being disabled? hell even if you aren't disabled and you just exist in society. my friend's cousin was a little person and got attacked in the street for no fucking reason and died. if you talk to people with disabled family members you'll hear the same sort of stories over and over again. and people are getting way too comfortable these days dismissing ableism as just some sort of rhetoric. like "yeah it's bad optics to say it but-" and go on to say autistic people are really annoying or mobility aids take up too much space or scars really scare them so they should be covered or some other shit like. get a grip. it's not revolutionary or "saying what we're all thinking" by being ableist. that's actually the norm.

what’s fucking crazy about fatphobia is that I’m not fat. I’m l tall and skinny. and other people’s fatphobia has negatively impacted my medical care anyways

I was on a clear liquid diet while recovering and I lost a significant portion of body mass - not just fat but also muscle and bone and organ. I have spinal hardware and serious degeneration, so this is not good.

when I talked about wanting to improve my diet to retain and regain that strength in my bones, my doctor said, and I’m not even kidding, “It would not hurt to lose one more pound”

this shit has haunted me for weeks.

I can NOT afford to lose a single more pound actually. my spinal hardware sits on ALREADY SOFTENED BONES. I could become a complete quadriplegic if I don’t constantly manage it with strength training and supplements

i think my jaw is dislocated or at least partially dislocated, it hurts so bad and i can’t move it properly and i can’t chew because upper and lower set of teeth do not touch anymore 🥲
