The pilot had settled down slightly after gaining quite a bit of information, although it wasn't enough to answer all of the questions he had been asking himself since arriving at this strange place. He knew the name of this entire area now, but it made it even more mysterious than before- the enchanted forest. It sounded like something straight from the fairy tale books he had read a bit, sometimes with his father and other times not- it was depressing to think about this, though. Pushing the brooding thoughts away, Slaine had found himself residing at an abandoned house for a while until he got back to Japan. It was very run down and didn't have much with supplies but it was better than sleeping outside on the hard ground. Even if the floor of this building wasn't the most comfortable sleeping place, either...
He began to take these little things for granted, though. The smallest piece of food was practically everything; this was how the poor Terrans lived and Slaine couldn't imagine how hard it was. After working under the Martians for a while he had been treated fairly well, other than the discipline part. He was fed well and never exactly went hungry. He'd definitely take living in some building in an unknown place over that any day, though. It seemed a lot more peaceful over here, whereas Earth and the Vers Empire were previously in a very intense war which had taken many lives from both sides. Even if the enchanted forest had its mysteries and nasty rumors about some queen, it didn't seem too bad.
Once more, Slaine wished to find more information regarding this land. Taking a stroll through the village and observing regular life for the other villagers, he then made his way to the forest where he first arrived. Maybe venturing further here would lead him somewhere other than this. But something caught his attention; a little girl was lying on the floor, and was in a deep sleep. This was like déjà vu! Hurriedly rushing to her side, the pilot knelt to the grassy area, checking for pulses just in case. Ah, she was still breathing. A sense of calmness then passed through him as he carefully shook her awake, hopefully not startling her too harshly.
