been a little while since i bumped the discord server! for those who are unaware, i run a death note fanfiction writer’s discord server with writers from all corners of our fandom where we chat about everything from the writing process and editing to headcanons and general discussions ♡ there’s even something of an irregular fanfic book club i run in one of the channels.

i know joining a server sometimes feels a bit intimidating but i think the community is really lovely and supportive, and for me at least it has been a wonderful resource for beta reading and asking questions about fanfic logistics. there is no pressure to participate beyond what you desire to.

Can you share what you like most about Lawlight?

they're so obsessive. they're insufferable. because of this, they're made for each other. i personally like my light more obsessed in a possessive way over L, but the way they react to each other is so extreme. i think you could turn this sentiment into something very fluffy and earnest, or you can add more fuel to the fire and make it the absolute worst tragedy of their lifetime. theres lots of potential to lawlight and i think you see that portrayed so well in the fic and art of the community.

Ok I got this angsty beyondlaw pseudo-incest fic idea that I thought I’d share because 1. I’m too shy to share it with anyone else and 2. You’re the only one who talks about beyondlaw + themes of incest and 3. I’m never going to write it.q

Anyway long story short the idea is that Watari is Beyond’s biological father. He later adopts L, and raises them as brothers. However B notices that Watari prefers L over him for whatever reason (maybe it’s because he’s smarter or gets higher grades, I haven’t decided whether Wammys is incorporated) and he grows very jealous, even trying to imitate L’s appearance, making them look even more like family. That obsession to be better than his ‘brother’ eventually becomes something more twisted. I’m not sure who would be older, B or L but the idea just came to me in a vision.
