One of the reasons why the Jedi Order is criticized is the fact that George Lucas' Star Wars actually shows that the good guys can't be always nice and you can't do perfect. The Clone Wars illustrates this masterfully: as Lucas said, "Are they going to stick with their moral rules and all be killed, which makes it irrelevant, or do they help save the Republic?" But some people are just unable to accept this.
There is always a right choice. Right doesn't mean it's the nicest and most perfect choice, the one that you might find the most satisfying and pure. But it's the best choice you can make in given circumstances. And in 99% of life, that's all we can do.

Imagine this;
There's a popular piece of media in which characters have superpowers and are good or evil, classic good guy/bad guy tropes. In this popular piece of media, there is a man with the power to turn invisible. As well as this, the main character is a do-good girl who only wants to help this man (and others) become a better person.
The girl gets hired by a large company that the guy works for, and their very first interaction is the guy using his invisibility powers to watch the girl get dressed into her work clothes. He then gets caught, becomes visible, and doesn't apologise for seeing her in any sort of state of undress, instead asking her if she had sex with another co-worker before even introducing himself.
Throughout this piece of media, the guy makes repeated sexual jokes and comments to and about, NOT ONLY the girl, but their co-workers as well. The entire time, he also tries to make it out that he's not a bad person and is just struggling to become good without ACTUALLY putting any effort in.
Imagine he suddenly starts to follow her around one day, until they both end up in the female's toilets whilst the girl is trying to fix her wounds up after a run-in with another hero. He tells her, unprovoked, about a sex dream that he had about her.
There is also a moment in this piece of media where he kisses her and, when pushed off, accepts it. HOWEVER, rather than apologising and leaving, he becomes invisible and kisses her again without any sort of consent. That would all be a massive problem, right? That guy would be sexually harassing the girl, right?
Okay, but now imagine it's actually the video game Dispatch. The guy is actually Invisigal, and the girl is actually Robert. Invisigal still (as far as I can remember) does all of these things and more, and despite how Robert reacts, she continues to. It's still fucked up that she acts this way, right? She still spends the entire game sexually harassing Robert and stepping WAY out of line, and not just in the sense that she refuses to listen to crucial orders from her dispatcher.
Dispatch fans hate to think of Invisigal as a bad person who's done any wrong because she's a quirky, 'I can't help it!! I don't mean to be evil :(((' girl, and they all have the unconscious mindset that sexual harassment doesn't count if it's to a male. It's incredibly disgusting, and it just shows that they are more than happy to pretend that people, in game and out of game, haven't done any wrong as long as they act like they regret it.
Visi IS a sexual harasser, and people really need to realise this. Thank you for coming to my angry rant :1

"A...what?"
Robert blinked. Shirt half pulled up to dab at the sweat beading across his brow. Punching bag still swaying and drink bottle in hand. Panting and red faced as Chad stood in front of him. Boxed him in against the benches. A soft glow all around him in the darkness of the basement gym. His suit replaced by his own work out clothes. Yoga pants and a tank top. Mat rolled under his arm and ready to join Alice for the afternoon session a few doors down.
"A date. You deaf or something, Bobert?"
His hair was loose. Falling in soft waves. He smelled like coconut and sandalwood.
Robert blinked again.
"Me? You're asking me on a date?"
Chad took a step forward. And Robert took one back.
"What, there some other pathetic, no assed, skinny twink with daddy issues around here or something? Yes, you. Dumb fuck"
He took another step and the backs of Robert's knees hit the bench. Stumbling for a moment. Water bottle almost dropping from his grip as he gulped down the pulse that was rising in his throat. Blaming the heat in his face on a mix of his workout and Chad's proximity. Shirt still pulled up. But slowly dropping as he scanned Chad's face. Trying to find it. The joke.
But there wasn't one.
There wasn't even anyone here to witness the joke. Just him and Chad and the smell of chalk.
So he let himself believe it. Let himself hope. Just this once. And nodded.
"Well...Ok then. Sure. I'd...love to?"
Chad hummed. And smirked. Roberts hand inches away from finally dropping his hem as Chad reached forward. A warm palm sliding across his bare stomach. Over his navel and hips, cupping his waist. Pushing him against the wall and pulling him in closer. Nose sliding down the curve of his own. Three fingers gripping him tight. Minty fresh firey breath brushing his cheeks.
"Say it like you mean it or I won't fuck you after dessert"
Roberts heart pounded. His guts flipped and shuddered. His legs felt like jelly and his hands didn't know where to go. What to do. So he pressed them into the wall and let his hips be pulled closer.
"I'd love to go on a date with you, Chad"
His voice didn't shake. And he was so grateful for that. Because his legs wouldn't stop. Trembling under his baggy sweats. Hopeful that this would all be over soon and he wouldn't be looking like such a little bitch for much longer.
But then Chad was running sharp teeth down his throat. Barley a graze. Not even a nip. But something. Something that made his eyes close and his breath hitch. His knees ready to buckle.
"Good. I'll text you the address and time. Don't be late"
And then he was gone. Air cold and those stupid yoga pants leaving nothing to Robert's imagination as he waved over his shoulder and left. Leaving Robert there to shakily sit down on the bench and squeeze cold water over his head. His side burning with the ghost of warm fingertips.
Unaware of the look Alice was giving him just outside the cracked door. The menacing smirk and slow clap. Taking in Chad's sarcastic bow and equally devilish smirk.
"That was cruel, Bae"
"But you love it, Sparkles"

Robert hadn't had a date in years. He hadn't had any reason to, any motivation. He didn't crave sex. He didn't need romance. Hell, he barely needed company. But he was lonely. So lonely that he didn't even feel it anymore. Just an ache that was always there. Tucked beside his cracking joins and crippling sense of doom.
And, even if he still wasn't sure if this was one big joke or not, he was excited. Asking Chase to take Beef for the night. Looking up the restaurant menu online and googling the French words he didn't understand. Trying to look into wine pairings and figuring out a budget, because he wanted to pay. He wanted to take some kind of lead. Be responsible for some part of this. Even if he was counting pennies. He just couldn't order the lobster.
But then he thought about his outfit, and realised he only had two pairs of pants, three shirts, one pair of shoes and the mechman Lycra. So he hesitantly tapped Victor's shoulder in the locker room, and asked if he could borrow a suit. And after some playful jabs about hot dates and not putting out, he said he had one that might fit. His old one from prom. And some shoes to match.
So here he was. Standing in front of the restaurant 10 minutes early. Menu figured out, cash in his wallet, suit neatly buttoned and shoes reflecting the stars. Neat and polished and holding a small bouquet of Peruvian fire lillies because they reminded him of Chad's eyes.
And he waited.
Just waited.
Looking at the watch he had pulled out of his dads box of things in the back of his closet. Then at his phone and Chad's text. The time matching up. The address correct.
An hour passed.
And he was fidgeting. Picking at his cuticles and pacing the mouth of an ally way. Bouquet drooping and phone pressed to his ear as it rang.
And rang.
And rang.
A click.
Voicemail.
"Hey, Chad. It's me. Just...checking in. I'm at the restaurant and...I know traffic is bad this time of night so no rush just...whenever you get here"
He lowered the phone and ended the call. Chewing on his lips. Picking the skin with his teeth as he kept waiting.
And waiting.
And waiting.
Leaning against the brick. Eyes stinging as they stared at the second hand ticking away mockingly. The air was chilly now. The lillies sinking.
So he picked up the phone again, and choked back the crack in his voice as it rang.
And rang.
And rang.

"Hey, me again. I'll just...its ok. We can do this another time, maybe. I don't think you're going to make it before closing. I'm sorry. I know you don't like a flake but it's late and we have work tomorrow so I'll just...see you then...its Robert by the way"
He ended the call. Looking down at the flowers before tossing them into the dumpster at the end of the ally. Sitting on top of stale bread and rotten fruit.
He started walking.
His feet on autopilot because he couldn't think right now. It was too dangerous. Because every choice was the wrong one.
Go home and feel the emptiness. Eat a bowl of ceral and get trapped in his own spirling mind.
Go to Chase's and get a lecture about how of course he stood him up, he was a shitty villian after all. He should have expected this.
Go to another z-team members house and find out they were all in on the joke. That this was one big conspiracy to make him look the fool. And it worked. Such a gullible bitch.
So he walked.
And kicked rocks as he went.
"Where the fuck is he going? His apartments the opposite way"
Chad had the phone pressed to his ear. Listening to the voicmail he had just received a couple of minutes ago. Covered in glitter and sweat. Fish net top ripped down the side from some overenthusiastic grinding on the clubs dance floor. Alice hot on his heels as he ducked behind some cars and watched Robert walking away.
He didn't mean to ignore him.
I mean...standing him up was the plan. But he didn't expect two voicemails six hours apart as he threw back shots of fireball and made out with anything with a pulse and a dick that entered his orbit. He didn't even expect Robert to show up. So, rushing out of the club with Alice dragged behind him to find Robert kicking his feet with his hands in a set of suit pockets was a shock, to say the least.
It looked like he had combed his hair. Shaved and washed his face. Put on cologne and even flossed properly.
He was ready for a date.
And that made Chad's heart twist in some kind of fucked up way.
"I dunno. Back to the office, maybe? Dudes a workaholic. It's kind of sad"
Alice shrugged. Her pasties threatening to fall off as she swayed on her feet. Gesturing into the air as Robert kept on walking.
So they followed.

Alice was right.
He was a fucking workaholic.
Because they followed him all the way back to the SDN. Watching as Robert smiled at the night guards that were half asleep. Made some small talk and disappeared behind glass.
And then they followed him down empty halls. To his desk where he pulled out a key from his bottom draw. The bull pen ticking over with three dispatchers running on caffeine and sugar. The lamps at their booths the only thing illuminating the room.
And then they followed him down three floors into Royd's lab, where he used the key to slide the door open and slip inside. Closing it with a soft thunk, but not a click. Leaving it open for their grubby little hands to slide it back open and peek inside.
To watch as Robert pulled off his blazer and tie. Toeing off his shoes and pressing some kind of key pad to lift a wall.
That was hiding the mech.
"Oh no..."
Chad froze, watching as Robert lifted the hatch and slipped inside. Curling up on the seat and hugging himself tight. Sniffling and biting his lip so hard it went white. Rubbing his eyes on his cuffs and messing up his hair in frustration. Mumbling to himself. Cursing himself. Wallet pulled from his slacks and thrown into the pile on the floor. Crisp new bills peaking out the top and a receipt from a florist fluttering across the room, stuck to the back of the leather as he rushed to get to the restaurant in time. Shoving it deep into his pocket with hurried thank you's and hope still in his heart.
Fire lillies.
"What? Bae, come on, move your big ass head"
Alice pushed him. Crawling up his back just in time to catch the soft sob that broke free from Robert's chest. The fat tears that started rolling down his cheeks as he pressed a button, and closed the hatch.
"Oh..."
Chad pushed the door open, just enough to grab the receipt, before closing it again. Pacing the hallway and tugging at his hair. Glitter falling into his eyes and heart pounding.
"We fucked up"
His eyes were wide. Feet padding. Leather too tight and boots too high. The walls closing in around him. His breathing fast and shallow. Head spinning as Alice snatched the paper from his hands. Her face falling impossibly further.
"You fucked up"
Fire lillies.
He bought fucking fire lillies.
He had a stack of cash in his wallet and a two piece suit drapped over his skinny normie body.
He put in effort. He tried, really tried. And Chad stood him up. Chad ignored his calls and made out with strangers while he stood there for hours, just waiting. Hopeful. Actually expecting Chad to show up. To wine and dine him and make good on his promises after dessert was done.
And now he was sobbing in his coffin. Because it was the only place he felt safe.
"I didn't...I didn't think he'd take it so fucking seriously. I mean...its me! No one ever...did I miss some signals or something? He can't be...he doesn't..."
He couldn't.
He just...he couldn't.
He couldn't have feelings for Chad. He couldn't genuinely want this. For this to be something. For all this to have been real. He was Robert. Just Robert. He was the butt of the joke. The communal punching bag. He was the play along fall guy that shrugged it off and took nothing to heart.
He didn't take anything Chad said seriously.
So why was he wearing a fucking suit and buying flowers.
A hand found his bicep. Gripping it, stilling him. Looking down at her split coloured hair and heavy make up for the first time since he opened that door. Realising that he was crying. Steam bubbling from his cheeks. Vision blury and jaw shaking.
Alice sqeezed. And he tried to gulp down the twisting of his stomach.
"I think he does, Bae. Or at least he did..."
She looked down at the receipt.
"I dont know if you're gonna have a second chance after this"
And handed it back.
$23.40 with tax. Purchased half an hour before the time he had made up and sent in a text while he put on eye-liner in Alice's bathroom and joked about leopard print thongs.
(So, this isn't the Invisigal post I was originally planning on, but it's the one I've made now because it was such a specific issue I have that it needed it's own thing.)
The Granny’s Donuts mission is where a lot of my issues with how Invisigal is presented really start showing up.
And to be clear, the issue is not that Invisigal ignores Robert’s orders. Honestly, that part makes sense. She’s still new to this, she’s defensive, she’s used to doing things her own way, and she’s very clearly not at a point where she’s comfortable taking direction from Robert. Her doing the opposite of what he tells her fits where she is in the story.
My issue is what the scene seems to accidentally say because of how the choice is written. No matter what Robert tells her to do, Invisigal picks the opposite option, everything goes to shit, the villain gets away, and Granny gets hurt. And that’s already frustrating on a basic choice game level, because it means the choice doesn’t really matter. But honestly, that’s not even the bigger problem for me.
The bigger problem is that it makes Robert’s order feel less like a tactical decision and more like a weird obedience test. Because if both options lead to failure, then the problem isn’t really that Robert picked the wrong call. The problem becomes that Invisigal didn’t do what Robert said. Which sounds fine on the surface because, yeah, he’s her dispatcher and she should listen to him during a mission. But then the scene gets weird because it doesn’t establish that Robert’s order was actually better. It establishes that whichever thing Robert says automatically becomes 'the right thing' purely because he said it. And I really don’t think that’s the point the game was trying to make, but it is how the scene ends up reading. It’s not framed as 'Robert made the better call and Invisigal’s refusal to listen caused people to get hurt'. It’s more like 'Robert made a call, Invisigal did not obey it, and therefore she was wrong'. But the actual situation the game shows us doesn’t prove Robert’s judgment was better, because if he says to go after the thief, that goes badly. If he says to disarm Granny, that also goes badly. So what are we supposed to take from that?
That Robert was right because he’s Robert?
That Invisigal was wrong because she didn’t listen?
That there was no correct choice, but she should’ve obeyed anyway?
Because that last one is where it starts getting kind of fucked up for me.
Especially because, again, I’m not saying Invisigal handled it well. She didn’t. The mission is a complete failure. The suspect escapes, the client is hurt badly enough to end up hospitalized, and Invisigal escalated instead of following the person who was supposed to be coordinating her from outside the scene. Even if you want to argue she was trying to do the right thing, trying is not the same as succeeding.
And then the break room scene makes it worse. If Invisigal had come back defensive because she knew she fucked up and couldn’t handle admitting it, I’d be completely fine with that. That would make sense. That would be in character. She’s proud, she’s insecure, she’s not used to being held to heroic standards, and she clearly has a lot of baggage around being seen as a villain no matter what she does. Her going, “Whatever, it wasn’t that bad,” because she can’t emotionally handle the fact that it was that bad would work. But that’s not quite what happens. Instead, she tries to insist the mission was actually a success. And I’m sorry, what?
The villain got away. Granny got hurt. The shop got trashed. Robert is upset because the mission failed in basically every way it could fail, and Invisigal is sitting there acting like he’s being unreasonable for not seeing the bright side. That doesn’t make her seem guarded or defensive to me. It makes her seem detached from reality.
She’s a former villain, not a toddler. She’s a grown woman. She should understand that 'the civilian did not literally die' is not the same thing as 'the mission was a success'.
And again, this could still work if the scene treated her reaction as a serious flaw. But the problem is that the game doesn’t really give that enough weight. The writing wants the conflict to be messy, but it also seems weirdly hesitant to let Robert just be rightfully angry with her. Because he is rightfully angry. You can argue about whether his exact wording is too harsh depending on what options you pick, sure. But the core of what he’s saying is true. She ignored him, the mission failed, someone got hurt, and she needs to take that seriously if she actually wants to be a hero. That’s not Robert being cruel. That’s basic accountability.
But the scene doesn’t really let that land cleanly, because no matter what dialogue option you pick, Invisigal reacts the same. You can be softer. You can be harsher. You can try to make it about the mission. You can make it more personal. It does not matter. She still escalates. She still can’t take it. She still punches Robert.
And this is where the problem becomes less 'Invisigal made a mistake' and more 'the game is making it very hard not to read Invisigal as someone who cannot handle criticism at all'. Not harsh criticism. Not unfair criticism. Just criticism. And that might be fine if the rest of the story really dug into that and made it something she had to fully confront. But instead, a lot of the framing around her keeps wanting me to feel bad for her more than it wants me to sit with what she actually did.
That shows up again immediately after, when Blonde Blazer asks Robert what happened. The fact that telling the truth about Invisigal punching him is treated like “ratting her out” is honestly one of the most annoying parts of the whole thing. Because no, sorry, that’s not “ratting her out.” That’s called answering a question honestly after a coworker physically assaulted you. Robert doesn’t run to Blonde Blazer to tattle. He doesn’t try to get Invisigal fired. He doesn’t make a huge dramatic scene about it. He gets asked what happened, and one of the available options is to tell the truth. But the language around it makes it sound like the more honorable option is to cover for her. Like the mature thing is to let it slide. Like holding her accountable is petty or disloyal.
And I hate that. Because this is not some minor argument where Robert would be 'snitching' over workplace drama. Invisigal punched her dispatcher in the face after a failed mission where a civilian got hurt. That is serious. If anything, the fact that Robert can cover for her at all is already more grace than she earned in that moment.
Then there’s the donut. And I get what the game is trying to do. Invisigal remembered Robert’s favorite donut. She brought him one. It’s supposed to show that she does care, that there was a softer intention under all the hostility, and that maybe Robert should feel a little bad for how things went. But for me, that does not work. A donut does not make up for what I just watched. A donut does not undo the failed mission. It does not undo Granny getting hurt. It does not undo her refusing to take responsibility. It does not undo her punching Robert. And the fact that she smashed it in anger doesn’t make me go, “Aw, she cared and now she’s hurt.” It makes me more annoyed, because even her small attempt at kindness gets destroyed the second her feelings are hurt.
That’s the thing that frustrates me so much about this scene. There are pieces here that could work. Invisigal ignoring Robert could work. Her getting defensive could work. Her wanting to prove herself and making everything worse could work. Her bringing the donut as a clumsy, half-sincere peace offering could work. But the framing keeps getting in the way.
Instead of letting this be a moment where Invisigal fails badly and has to sit with that, the game keeps nudging me to feel like Robert is partially in the wrong for reacting like she failed badly. Instead of treating accountability as necessary, it frames honesty as “ratting her out.” Instead of making the donut a complicated detail, it feels like the game is waving it around like emotional damage control.
And the frustrating thing is, I don’t even think this would be that hard to fix.
The story clearly has specific beats it wants to hit. Invisigal needs to ignore Robert. The mission needs to go badly. Granny needs to get hurt. Invisigal needs to blow up afterward. Robert needs to have the option to either cover for her or tell Blonde Blazer what happened. The donut needs to be there as a sign that she did, in some way, try. That’s all fine. The problem is trying to make those fixed story beats look like player choice when the choices don’t actually matter.
So honestly, I think the better version would be to not make the player choose between 'go after the thief' or 'disarm Granny' at all.
Show the two options for a second. Let the player see Robert weighing them. Then, before the player can pick, have Invisigal jump in and do what she wants without waiting for instructions. That would immediately fix one of the biggest problems with the scene, because now the issue isn’t 'the player made a choice and the game ignored it'. The issue is 'Robert was about to make a call, but Invisigal acted before he could'. That works so much better. It keeps the story beat the game wants, but it stops pretending there’s meaningful choice where there isn’t any. Instead of making both player options lead to the exact same failure, it makes Invisigal’s impulsiveness the actual cause of the failure. Which is what the scene seems to want anyway.
Then the real choice can come after she’s already acted. Robert can try to bring her back. He can try to regain control of the situation. He can tell her to stop, redirect her, warn her, calm her down, or push harder. Those choices don’t need to immediately change the outcome, because the mission can still fail either way. But they should matter later, because they show what kind of mentor Robert is being to her. And that’s the part I think the game needed to care about more.
The immediate result can stay the same. Granny still gets hurt. The villain still gets away. Invisigal still fucks up. But the way Robert handles that failure should affect how this relationship develops.
The break room confrontation can mostly stay the same too, though I’d definitely tone down how weirdly cheerful and delusional Invisigal comes off. She shouldn’t be acting like the mission was some great success. She should be dismissive. Defensive. Trying to downplay it because admitting how badly it went would mean admitting she really did hurt someone while trying to prove she could be better. That still lets her be wrong, but in a way that feels human instead of making her seem like she has no grip on reality.
Then the Blonde Blazer conversation should actually matter. There should be one option where Robert does not tell her what happened, and that should count against the Invisigal ending path. Because covering for Invisigal here is not kindness. It’s not mentorship. It’s not helping her grow. It’s letting her get away with something serious because dealing with it would be uncomfortable. And that’s the exact opposite of what she needs.
Then there should be two ways to tell Blonde Blazer. One version should be angry and unfair, where Robert tells the truth, but does it in a way that’s more about venting his frustration than actually handling the situation responsibly. That should also hurt the Invisigal path, because even though he’s technically right to be angry, he’s not being constructive. He’s just tearing her down. The other version should be objective and to the point. Not covering for her, but not exaggerating either. Just, “She punched me after I gave her feedback on the mission.” That should be the option that actually helps her route, because it holds her accountable without making it about punishing her.
That’s the distinction the game really needed. Not 'be nice to Invisigal or be mean to Invisigal'. Not 'cover for Invisigal or rat her out'. But 'are you actually helping her grow, or are you either enabling her or taking your anger out on her?'
And then the donut could be the tell. If the player picked the options that show Robert being a real mentor, someone who holds Invisigal accountable while still trying to help her improve, the donut should be there untouched. Not because everything is fine. Not because Invisigal suddenly handled it maturely. But because even if she’s angry, even if she’s embarrassed, even if she doesn’t know how to apologize properly, there’s still enough trust there that she doesn’t destroy the one small nice thing she tried to do. But if the player picked the harshest options, where Robert isn’t really guiding her and is just tearing into her, then the donut should be smashed.
Then it would actually mean something. It wouldn’t be the game waving a smashed donut in my face and going, “Don’t you feel bad now?” after Invisigal just punched Robert. It would be a reflection of how badly the relationship is going. It would show that Robert’s choices did affect her, just not in a shallow instant-consequence way. And that’s so much stronger to me, because then the donut isn’t there to make me feel guilty for criticizing Invisigal. It’s there to show the state of their trust.
Untouched donut means Robert is holding the line without giving up on her.
Smashed donut means Robert may be right about the mission, but he’s failing as a mentor.
That would make the whole sequence feel less like the game is trying to force me into feeling bad for Invisigal and more like the game is actually interested in the difference between accountability, enabling, and cruelty.
And I don’t hate Invisigal for this scene. That’s the important thing. I think this scene actually makes sense for who she is at this point. She’s not ready. She wants to be seen as better than she was, but she hasn’t actually learned how to handle what being better requires. She wants credit for trying, but she can’t accept the consequences of failing. That’s a good flaw. That’s a useful flaw. That could be a strong starting point.
My issue is that the game does not seem nearly as willing to criticize her as it should be.
And because of that, Granny’s Donuts doesn’t just make Invisigal look messy or flawed. It makes the game’s framing look messy too.
Dispatch is supposed to be a CHOICE based game and Invisigal is ONE of the love-interest, not even the main character, but her fans will tell you you're stupid bc you want to escape her.
I should be able to do that buddie. The same way I can escape Blonde Blazer if I'm not interested in her. Heard about 'having a brain'?

Bravo shipping the broken hero who went broke to help people and almost died with the one who was part of almost murdering him, who continuously verbally & physically abuses him, SAs him and turns against him and the team (includes Golem btw, she betrayed him too) cause she wasn't pampered 24/7. Romanticising an abuser isn't the flex y'all think it is
I heard they took out the SA recently which is such a perfect metaphor - literally how every perpetrator gets away with their heinous crimes by erasing it as if it never happened. You know, how the system protects abusers while the victim gets painted as the bad guy (*cough villainising Blazer *cough)

Hell, Flambe tries to kill Robert in cold blood when he learns his identity. Invisigal was coerced into planting a bomb on Mecha-Man in exchanged for augments to help her breathe. Immediately after the plan goes through, she leaves her criminal life behind and joins SDN. Not even to get her augments fixed or anything like that, just because she knew what she did was wrong.
Again, Flambe tries to MURDER Robert, and when he fails, he skips work and punches Robert in the face.
Also, remember that Invisigal knew Robert's identity before anyone else in the Z-Team, and she never took advantage of that knowledge. She never blackmailed Robert, never threatened to leak it to anyone, never even implied she knew it. To me, that's a sign of respect for Robert and his privacy / safety. Everything else she does (pre-locker-room-scene) is just banter and ribbing, same as the rest of the Z-Team.
And again, it was only a kiss. Invisigal didn't force Robert to kiss her back, didn't grope him, didn't r*pe him. It was a mistake she made when in a low point. I'm not excusing it, don't get me wrong. She made a mistake, and everyone makes mistakes. Why is Invisigal not afforded the same grace as any of the other character?
It wasn't a "making out". It only becomes AFTER you lean in, but at first it's assault. So for all the people who didn't want to kiss her, it's from the beginning to the end a sexual assault.
Thanks the sky I didn't see anyone blaming Robert for being assaulted but the game does show us Invisigal being sad if you reject her. Bc after being sexually assaulted by her, it's HER feelings the most important, not her victim's, or her apologizing. The game want the player to feel bad for rejecting her.
It's true that other characters did the same thing as her. And while it's bad and the game should have deal with it better, it's far, FAR, from the level of Invisigal. She does everything a lot more often than everyone. For other character, it's once max for each of them.
For Invisigal, we have:
ep 2: spies on Robert and make sex jokes/insults Robert
ep 2: the donut sex joke which doesn't like at all
ep 4: check out Robert’s ass and jokes about him masturbating in his suit
ep 4: follows Robert to the bathroom and talks about her sex dream with him
And it's only from the top of my head, there's a lot more.
Also other characters are a lot less important than her and have a lot less screentime. The anger and critics are comparative to their presence.
True, Flambae tried to kill Robert, just like Invisigal. The difference is that Invisigal never get any punishment for what she did. Flambae want to prison and lost two fingers. Second time he tried to be a dick to Robert, he's humiliated and loses either a tooth or his eyebrows. When he's bullying Waterboy, he's again humiliated and has to clean up everything (and buy BB's food depending of your choice). During the tacos dinner, he's once again humiliated. I agree that him punching Robert without any consequence was bad. But it's not on the same level as Invisigal.
Invisigal insults and punches Robert but not only she's never punished, she doesn't even get to apologize. Even after admitting trying to kill Robert, she doesn't say sorry. She may have joined SDN on her own bc of her guilt, but after getting there, she does nothing. She's at the bottom of the leaderboard and according to BB (who likes her), she screwed up like the Granny incident a lot. She's supposed to feel guilty for what she did to Robert but insults and PUNCHES him, when she knows he was in coma a few weeks? days? before.
That's great, Invisigal never blackmailed Robert's secret identity. That she learnt by spying on him and that Blonde Blazer threaten her to not say anything about it. Not leaking information that can endander someone is not impressive, it's the bare minimum. Invisigal is supposed to be (or tries to be) a good person, I don't see how that's a good defense. Would you congratulate an adult for going to the bathroom instead of wetting their own pants?
It wasn't "only a kiss", it was assault. It doesn't matter there was no penetration, it's still assault. She littreally forced his hands away when he tried to remove her from him, which he does BEFORE you can chose to kiss her back. The consent happens AFTER the kiss already happened.

flambae can be as abrasive, childish, and seductive as he can get, and people would still stay he would've been a better romance option than visi. people are still so used to romanticising aggressive men that they'd rather toxic yaoi slop over a woman who allows herself to be angry.

I never said I justified her actions. I said that treating characters like children who can't defend themselves is ridiculous.
But if you take the entire game and all the interactions into account, it's certainly fucked up, especially if you don't feel any romantic interest in her.
I'm a guy, and there was a moment in my life when a girl I didn't like tried to kiss me/kissed me and behaved inappropriately, so I’m not defending a SA from a woman.
To form any real opinion now, I probably need to replay the game again, because during the first playthrough, I didn't really notice Robert being against it at all. But I chose her as a potential lover, so maybe that explains it all (except for the first scene with Robert, BB and Visi)
But the one complaining about Invisigal aren't treating Robert like a child incapable of defend himself, they're angry the game doesn't allow him to be angry at Invisigal or give her consequence for her actions. There's nothing like when we have the choice to punch the bartender with your drink bc of his comment on Blonde Blazer. When Invisigal is doing that way too often and the most we can do is not participating in her 'flirt', no choice for escaping this (unlike Blonde Blazer who leaves you alone if you refuse her date).
The rare time you can give her consequences (none about her sexual harassment), you are the one punished for it.
The game may be a bit exagerated but not enough that SH and SA is normal. Not when the bartender exists.
I advice you to play the game again, but while trying to reject Invisigal as much as you can. You'll see if she can actually hear your no
