Science is literally agreeing plants and mushrooms and animals all communicate to one another idk why Animism is such a wild concept for some people like.
I do know why, because most religions say only humans have souls but like, also shut up we're literally animals.
i’ll also add it’s often even cooler than layfolk think! different fungi have different personalities, different relationships with different plants, and it’s not even always symbiosis!
nature is absolutely bustling with funky dudes, and honestly the more i learn the harder it is for me to not see souls in them
We love good additions on posts. ♥️🍄
We don’t say this often enough (though I think most of us know it) but men who can’t write women are bad writers. It doesn’t matter how perfect their pacing is or how many awards they’ve been given by other men. If they have fundamentally misunderstood the nature of 51% of the world’s population, they are bad writers, and nothing they have to say about the human condition could possibly be valuable.
If a dude can do the research and tell you exactly what breed of goat his 12th century shepherd would have managed on the hills of whereverthefuck then he should be able to find out if breasts ‘swell in excitement’
I agree that men who can’t write women should not be considered good writers, but let’s be clear that the problem isn’t their writing or research abilities. men who can’t write women often can write well developed, fully rounded men. they often can write beautiful, moving scenes featuring men. they can often elicit strong emotions from readers by writing from the point of view of men. men who can’t write women but who can write men are not just bad writers. the problem is that they don’t view women as having the same depth, humanity, and range of perspectives as men. the solution isn’t to send men who are otherwise good writers to a writer’s workshop or make them do more research about boobs, it’s to address the misogyny inherent in their worldview that says only men’s perspectives and inner worlds are interesting and that their experiences, values, and ideas are universal.
men who can’t write women are bad writers, but they are bad writers because they are misogynistic.

[image ID: Text reading Texas State Aquarium staff stated that the animals have been getting a little restless. One of the employees had an idea to let some of the land animals spend time with some of the sea animals, and it has worked out brilliantly.
Putting the sloths near the dolphins was the biggest surprise of all. The dolphins are absolutely delighted with the sloths, and the sloths, normally very quiet animals, have been squeaking replies back to the dolphins for hours at a time. Who would have guessed these two species would be such a great match?
There is a photo of two dolphins in a large pool, their heads peeking out above the water to look at a brown sloth, who is hanging on a branch. End ID]
As alien species encounters go, this is like the absolute best possible outcome
Okay but in the video the dolphins swim upside down like they’re imitating the sloth and it’s real cute.
THANK YOU FOR FINDING VIDEO! IDK WHY I DIDN'T THINK TO CHECK YOUTUBE! THIS VIDEO IS AMAZING!!!
Here are even more animals visiting each others!!
Oh my gosh, thank you for sharing this! This is so precious!!!
lmao all the animals are all like What, In the name of FUCK? Is THAT?
Last summer my friend’s mom discovered hundreds of teeny tiny toad tadpoles in a puddle in her driveway. It was drying up, so she asked me about moving them to a nearby pond. I told her not to, because moving amphibians unnaturally between water bodies can spread disease.
So she filled up a watering can every morning and every evening and replenished the puddle, adding dechlorinator drops she uses for her fish tank to make sure the water was safe.
The tadpoles survived and grew up into little toads who eventually hopped out of the puddle.
I think about the tenderness and compassion of this a lot.
This is a love language
“How were LGBT people able to hijack the rainbow!?!”
Uhh, well Jake, we started using the rainbow to connote gayness and you immediately stopped using it because you were pants shittingly afraid of looking gay.

good. I want it to
corporations trying to profit off of queer people by showing their support for only one month of the year is bad
and
it’s fun to watch conservatives get pissed that they can’t shop at target anymore because the big bad rainbows will corrupt their children :(
and
the existence of rainbow capitalism in the first place proves that society is now in a place where supporting queer people is the more profitable and thus more popular opinion and that means something
are all viewpoints that can absolutely coexist
