Alright, I’m going to address this, because it has happened a few times and it annoys the shit out of me. So, how it goes is someone asks about a commission. I respond with a price estimate explaining payment options, and they ghost me. Now I understand that my plushes may be out of someone’s price range. I have absolutely no problem with someone saying they can’t afford it and walking away. The ghosting however I have a major problem with for reasons I will attempt to articulate here;

1) It’s rude, plain and simple. I make an effort to respond quickly and in depth to any inquiries, and you are not doing me the same courtesy.

2) It leaves me hanging. I don’t know if you’re still interested or not. As far as I know you may have dropped off the earth never to be heard of again, or I may randomly hear from you 6 months later saying you have the money and are ready to commission now. Pretty much this goes back to number one, it’s rude and leaves me uncertain where we stand.

3) Perhaps this is me reading too much in to it, but the implication of the ghosting always seems to be that I’m asking too much money for my pieces. My works are detailed and require quite a bit of hand sewing. They take a considerable amount of time, effort and materials. They are art, and I refuse to under value that, and the perceived implication that I’m overcharging for my work always triggers my “fuck you” response. I’m not getting rich off this and handmade work deserves to be valued.

What I’m gettin at here, is if you come to my shop inquiring about a commission, please do not ghost me when I respond with pricing. If you don’t end up going through with it for whatever reason I will completely understand, but please respect me and my work enough for honest communication.
