they're making the omelas child go to therapy so it can learn about interpersonal accountability and realize the impact that its confusing and antisocial behavior has on the people around it
Anne Bonny black sails save me pls
К "призрачным", впечатлило.
your laura palmer comparison was trite and unfounded
— The Urca de Lima? You're talking about a floating castle. No one has ever taken a treasure galleon like that as a prize. — Let me worry about hunting her. It's what comes after for which I'll need your help. — After? Why return at all to Nassau? With money like that and my father out of business, why not run? — What's coming our way can't be outrun. But with the money I strip from the Hulk, we could add 50 guns to the fort. We could build ships to defend our shores and train new men to sail them. We could work the land, grow crops and raise cattle. Then who arrives on our shores first, be it England or Spain, will be in for a most unwelcome surprise. A nation of thieves. [--] If there's to be a war, that will be Whitehall's choice. I'd settle for a pardon, title on lands, and a governor that I could trust. And so would most of the men out there. They're not animals, Mr. Scott. They're men starved of hope. Give that back to them, who's to say what could happen?

what non-fiction books do you like if any? Also Book that you've reread the most? (if ur not a rereader what book do u wanna reread?)
11. what non-fiction books do you like if any?
i am actually not a huge non-fiction reader outside of lit criticism so i am Welcoming Recommendations ... i have replied with anne carson's eros the bittersweet before, and as for something else ... god, i don't know. let's go for a clasic: Powers of Horror: An Essay on Abjection by julia kristeva.
i am currently very slowly reading Mark Fisher's The Weird and the Eerie (chapter on mullholland drive and inland empire) so that's another idea
1. book you’ve reread the most times?
good question ... i used to re-read books way more as a child by virtue of having the average of 0 worries per day and lots of time to spare, so it'd likely be some childhood book In Truth ... but aside from that, i've read the master and margarita about three times, and solaris probably four. i wish i had more time and energy to re-read things actually but i tend to read very Intensively so it's a bit of an exhausting endeavour. & capitalism & all ... one day, i hope to be retired though
4 and 11 📚
4. what sections of a bookstore do you browse?
amazing question it usually goes:
new releases -> literary fiction -> queer fiction -> poetry -> science-fiction ... mostly. but a lot of the time i go to dig for something specific
11. what non-fiction books do you like if any?
most of non-fiction i read is literary criticism and i cannot in good conscience describe my relationship with it as "liking it" ... that being said, i love an essay from time to time. eros the bittersweet by anne carson. i would actually love some non-fiction recommendations that are Not literary criticism.

sci fi is all about getting so scared and ripping tubes out of yourself. people miss this
sci fi is all about desperately trying to reclaim your violated bodily autonomy. it’s all about asserting that you are a being with agency, and you can choose what happens to your own person, even if that’s ripping tubes out of yourself. and also sometimes an alien is there
its actually so funny how flint literally kills gates with his bare hands and when the crew reacts um poorly to that he’s like you are the stupidest bitches alive. i hope every last one of you dies
all of a sudden murder is not ok? god forbid women do anything
one thing that often gets overlooked when we point and laugh at dehydrated/starving silver saying that flint controls their reality is that he's literally right
this is what it looks like when you zoom in onto artemy in p3 and the captions are like Did he eat enough Is he hungry
hello friends ... to celebrate meeting my deadlines & procrastinate starting on the other deadlines, i bring you a gay little something written and re-written this winter and dusted off on a spring flight.
in short: pathologic 2 meets pathologic 3, stillwater versus stillwater. and there is still only one bed.
enjoy
[whispering in lowercase] have not been posting much abt it here in the interest of keeping wires uncrossed & so on and so on but for anyone potentially interested, a glimpse into my recent sandbox wherein i play with dollies:
