For fic purposes: do you believe Dick or Bruce would be of the opinion that “the end does NOT justify the means” of participating in the orbit of crime to just get by and support one’s family?

For context jason will be working as a defense attorney and his defendant has been pushed by the circumstances of life to participate in criminal orbits (mostly small petty crimes)
I can’t determine whether Dick (past as a cop but also as an outcast of social norms) or Bruce (who grew up privileged and can often be very narrow-minded when it comes to his terms of justice but is also aware of the anthropological context that drives peoples actions) will give more narrative conflict/push back during the story.
Im trying to go for a more realistic tone and therefore neither are going to be crucified for their role in the fic but there would be some narrative butting of heads with jason
