“Well, don’t ask me. English isn’t my thing and as bored as I get in work, I  haven’t resorted to reading the dictionary just yet. But please, come back and tell me when you find out. Ah, you say that but you never really know. You shouldn’t ever underestimate a pissed off person, they’re capable of anything. I would know, I‘m constantly pissed off”

“Oh, really? I always heard that the dictionary was a really nice read. The plot is evidently great. I wouldn’t know though. I don’t read books that often. Yeah, see, I’m also constantly pissed off, but even I wouldn’t do something like this. Maybe I’m just not an angry enough person.”

Just as she was about to take a bite out of her sandwich, Kara stopped when the guy in front of her spoke. “Have you tried filing a police report? Where did you park it? Maybe there’s security cameras around.”

“Yeah, I’m not sure if I’m really planning on filing a report or not. I may though. I should definitely check if there were security cameras though. I don’t know where they’d be in the parking lot, but who knows?”

“That’s like having a parent take a deeper look at your browser history. Or the NSA.” Milo muttered quietly as she picked up books, clothes and other random pieces of what she owned off the ground around him. A loud snort escaped her lips— or throat. Probably nose too, as he looked up like a deer caught in headlights. “I’m just saying, hands off the private stuff. I wasn’t saying you randomly go ‘round for some tits and grab whatever the hell you can. Relax. You’re not going to jail for molesting people, congrats.”

“I was kind of planning on not going to jail at all, but thanks for the comforting thought,” Luis said. He tried to regain his composure from his bit of surprise with her comment and decided to actually pay attention to what she was saying. “So, um, right,” he said, clearing his throat. “So, do you maybe need help with anything?” he offered.

“Rude,” she’d did her best to look genuinely offended in spite of the laugh she’d had to bite back as he’d acted like he was going to walk off on her. “I don’t really do secrets, not necessarily anyways. I just happen to be a private person and, hey if I go around showing the list to people then someone might decide they like one of the corporate prat’s on it and join forces to key my jeep. I would cry, honestly. That thing is one of my children,”

“I guess we’re both just horrible people,” he joked. “There’s me, very rudely trying to get away and then you,” he said. “Yeah, probably not in your best interested to go around showing off that list. Take it from me. Getting your vehicle keyed is no fun. Keep your jeep safe.”

“Maybe you didn’t notice, but there’s someone out to get you,” He joked, “It was probably just a teen trying to look big in front of his friends. I guess it’s Murphy’s law. Anything that can go wrong will eventually go wrong.” He shrugged. “Can I get you something to drink? I’m sure there’s some baked goods scattered about too.”

“Yeah, I think I noticed. I should probably watch my back,” Luis said, joking along with him. “I guess that’s probably what it is. As long as this as bad as it gets, it’ll be fine with me. And, sure. A water would be just fine by me.”

“If that’s your idea of fantastic then I think you need to take a good look at your life” Of course, she knew he had been joking but going along with the joke was much less fun to her than making a snarky comment about it was. “Maybe you did something to really pissed someone off. And if you did, then you deserve it.“ Lily shrugged, she had never been very good at offering someone sympathy.

“Yeah, I should probably check what fantastic actually means in the dictionary. I probably don’t know how to properly use it anyway. And, I might have, but I don’t know who. All the people I’ve pissed off wouldn’t go that far. I think. Really, it’s all just a fantastic mess,” Luis said.

“Well, I mean, you’re talking to me and I happen to be rather the horrifying soul so I would say that tops getting your car keyed.” She’d grinned a bit as she spoke, clearly simply joking with him. “Oh, you mean it’s abnormal to have a list of people stashed away of which you angered to a point that it’s likely they would key your car? Odd. Perhaps that’s just me then,”

Luis laughed. “Oh, my bad,” he said. “I didn’t realize that I was talking to such a frightening person. I should probably be going,” he joked, pretending like he was about to walk away. “I wouldn’t say that it’s abnormal. Weird, yes. But, I think everyone has that very secret list hidden away somewhere.”

“Fair enough. If you need any help though, let me know. Happy to do it and all.” He smiled, “Is it the first time someone’s done it?”

“Yeah, thanks though. And, as far as I know, it’s the first time it’s happened,” he answered. “If it ends up happening a second time, you’ll probably get to see me around again.” Luis sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “It just sucks, you know? I just got this car a couple months ago. Like if it was my old one, I probably wouldn’t have noticed a scratch on it because that one was a piece of junk.”

“Someone broke into my van. I’m going to murder someone, maybe you. Who knows. At first I thought the police was at it, but that idiot who broke into my van just grabbed some cash and left. Good. I’d have hunted his ass down if my laptop had gone missing. Not that he could do anything with it - or she.” Milo said with a big grin on her face as she grabbed the clothes on the ground in front of her home - an old van covered in old posters and pictures. “Hey! Hands off that harddrive! Jesus you don’t grab a random chicks boob and think that’s cool either, do you?”

Luis listened to her talk and only nodded his head every now and then. “Yeah, I’d probably lose my shit too if someone stole my laptop,” he said almost absentmindedly. He looked around the van and at a few things she had out. “Wait, what?” he asked, as she suddenly caught his attention. “What, no, I don’t do or think that,” Luis responded. He moved away from her stuff and shoved his hands in his pants pockets.

Maybelle had cringed a bit, “Oh yeah, I bet you were jumping up an’ down with glee when you saw that.” She’d offered a polite kindred sort of smile, “Honestly it sounds like a bit of honest bad luck. As in, you probably weren’t specifically targeted as a person some punk teenager probably just thought it would be funny an’— ta da.” She’d cringed again with obvious sympathy, “Sorry. That bites.”

“Yeah, that I definitely was. It was by far the highlight of my day. I wonder if anything else can top it,” he said, shaking his head. “That’s what I’m thinking - just some annoying teen. Plus, I don’t think I’ve pissed off anyone here lately who would do that.”

David felt bad for Luis, and patted on the back. “People are assholes, man.” He sighed, “Do you want me to file a police report?” He asked, taking a seat and loosening his tie a little.

“Yeah, I’ve definitely realized that people are over the past many, many years,” he said, shrugging. “I don’t know. I don’t think it’s a big enough deal for a police report, honestly.”

“You know what’s absolutely fantastic?” Luis asked, with a sarcastic tone. “Going back to my car and finding that someone keyed the driver’s door. I don’t even know who the hell would even do that to me.”
