I was just re reading some parts of Banana Split and...

Wow i havent updated in a while.

I feel like i have done way to much with the plot, and complicated it entirely... so im either considering rewriting it or finishing this version, then rewriting it.

(EITHER WAY THIS VERSION WILL BE LEFT UP!!! IM NOT TAKING IT DOWN!)

On one hand, I dont want all this progress to be for nothing, ive written almost 100k words and I know there is so many people waiting for a next chapter, but on the other I dont know where to go from this point. Theres still so much that i need to do and have planned, and theres also probably things I need to wrap up that I have forgotten about.

If i were to rewrite it, now I know the main things I 100% want to include and have a plan for the start middle and end (even if that end is open ended lol) I feel like i would be able to do a much better cleaner job. Plus my writing skills have improved and im better at waiting for a backlog before releasing chapters so I should be able to get a schedule in.

If i were to try and finish this current version I feel the ending will be very rushed and unclean because of how much I have to wrap up.

Maybe i could release a summary of what I had planned here on tumblr for those who are awaiting the end of this fanfic instead of finishing it off? But that would also spoil so much I have yet to have written that would probably also be included in the rewrite...

So uh.... yeah. I need some more pairs of eyes. What do you guys think I should do?

Do you think Tyler ever looked back to when he was impaled on the tree after they found out what the phantoms did to people when they caught them?

Any thoughts/headcanons about Tyler's and Aiden's friendship? Preferably something deeper about their dynamic if you want!

their dynamic has always been: overly energetic puppy trying to befriend a stray cat.

aiden has no filter or spatial awareness, which is why he clashes so hard with tyler's strictness and overall wariness towards strangers.

i like that over the course of the story, these two tend to buttheads the most, and while they seemed to treat each other with animosity, it never really escalates into anything physical, rather they prefer to call each other names.

and from what red mentioned in one of her stories, the name calling becomes a form of endearment later on once they all start seeing each other as friends!

as for headcanons,

i like the idea of tyler being the only to one to keep up with aiden's energy, like if aiden wanted to race him, he'd be down to do so (mostly cause it's also a good way to tire him out later lmao)

tyler is also the group's unofficial older brother, so whenever aiden has like questions about stuff he can't figure out or is too shy to ask his own dad for advise, then he goes to tyler

aiden also offers tyler a good distraction from his darker thoughts and i like that aiden knows when to present himself as such so that tyler can focus his attention on the more important things: having fun and living life without that haunted look in his eyes

they also bond over their shared trauma over nearly dying, at lease aiden tries to make this into a thing, to which tyler begrudgingly has no choice but to indulge him

We need to talk about how strategic those Phantom Clones from the finale are.

Clone Ben taking real Logan from the back of the group, taking him from behind and placing a hand over his mouth no less.

Logans one taking the real Logans place, the one who I think the group sees as a more vulnerable member. Sure he has proven himself to them and he is an absolute badass but deep down i think they all see the shy guy they knew from the start.

Then alerting Aiden and taking him down an alley (QUICK AS HELL MIND YOU) with multiple pathways. Now was that last part intentional? Idk but it caused the group to split.

From what we can tell from then onwards the clones split up. We see Ashlyns alone peaking out a door later on.

It all seems so INTENTIONAL like they damn well knew what they were doing!

The fact that they are smart and seem to think like humans/the main group makes them so much more creepy.

In fact. What if, conciousness wise, they (clones) think they are the actual versions of the main group? They think something is in their body and theyre trying to get it back. Would explain how they seem to be thinking like them and stratagising like humans would instead of being more Phantom like.
