writing sci-fi sucks ‘cause on one hand it seems like this character would say “son of a bitch” but then you have to pause and think, do they have dogs in space? Does this character know about dog breeding? Is it insulting to be compared to a dog in space? Is there misogyny in space? Do space people use misogynistic slurs? Does this character say bitch because they’ve absorbed a low level misogyny and it’s just part of the cultural lexicon of their world?

and then you shrug and give them all lasers because life is short and death is imminent

Hi Maximum ride fandom,

I'm gonna cut to the chase--i'm writing a rewrite.

Just like many kids, I read these books back in middle school and just like the stupid Sci-Fi/ Fantasy nerd that was (and still am) i thought they were hot shit. But i never ended up fully finishing the series because i started another and never sought to finish it back then. So in late 2019, out of pure nostagia, i said hey lets actually finish this, this time!

...i can i just say i'm so happy my younger self stopped at the final warning. Because i had heard the horror stories from a friend who also enjoyed them, but i didnt realize it was this bad.

So i automatically started rewriting the plot mentally for fun. But then i got distracted..again. Because my adhd ass cant stick to one thing for the life of me.

I never completely forgot about it though. And with quaratine in full swing, my hyperfixations came in full swing along with my discovery of you guys on tumblr.

I never been the most active in fandoms i like but may i just say i love max ride tumblr. So i have a question?

How do think things would go if Max got a time-travelesc do over to fix her mistakes and ACTUALLY save the world this time with the help of a entity that actually wants the best for her? ( Cause if this is a scifi book lets go all out!)

I would really like add to the beautiful rewrites that already exist and make this the best it can be.

ohhh man. I don't have any detailed ideas, but I do feel like she would scope out some of the international Itex locations a lot sooner, and try to screw up some of their plans before they go into full motion.

Fang: a marble rolling on a wood table, crackling fire

Iggy: fresh snow crunching under your feet, an engine purring

Nudge: fat drops of water plunking into a larger pool of water, the sound when you brake through the crust of fresh-baked bread

Gazzy: the sound when you open a can of a carbonated beverage, when you slide a straw through a plastic lid
