I've been thinking about the Silent's sisters recently, and like, they're all still 100% alive and also monster hunters. And the spire's been generating a bunch of attention recently. So like... what if one or more of them decides to go check it out?
They start to see signs that Silent's been nearby, and they're curious as to what she's up to. They track her path slowly (her path is very strange, she seems to have been here awhile, she's left several faint trails leading upward but none doubling back). But eventually find her, and a robot of some sort facing a very fearsome giant crab. The sister isn't worried, even though Silent doesn't look great. Her sister hasn't lost a fight before, she'd just run if it was that bad.
Then, seemingly in the blink of an eye, their sister is killed. They don't have time to save her. The robot is quickly killed next. They don't even have time to grab their sister's body, it got tossed off somewhere and they can't find it. Equally, they know there's no chance in hell she survived that.
The crab dies to them, quickly, fury is a powerful motivator. It clears the area so they can search and search, but they can find nothing but one of their sister's knives left behind. Can you imagine the horror? Thousands of years together, and your last interaction with her was judging her (maybe, it's unclear if that's actually how they felt or Silent's projections). Then she was distant and left again after having been absent 300 years already (and maybe that was the actual reason they were upset, she left for 300 years without any indication and they thought she was gone for good).
Now she's dead. Died to a stupid crab. Why hadn't she just run? Didn't she know better? Was she that upset? How can there be nothing left to mourn? How could it have happened so quickly?
I think they'd stay in the area searching for quite awhile, combing the place, trying to figure out what to do next.
Uh, and then just as they've nearly decided to give up she shows back up completely 100% fine, the robot is also here (that they saw get straight up bisected) and there's a fucking lich with her too now. Nobody in the group seems remotely alarmed that all of them fucking died maybe like a day ago. They are alarmed and confused about the crab already being dead.
Then, from the Silent's perspective, she had an unlucky run w/Defect, they picked up Necrobinder at the base and came back, and then Oh Fuck Her Sisters Are Here She Cannot Explain Any Of This And Oh Fuck Necrobinder Can Talk And Will Tell Them She's Expressed A Level Of Emotional Vulnerability Can The Crab Please Come Back And Kill Her So She Doesn't Have To Deal With This.
