I’ve had a slightly overactive bladder since I was a teenager, so I most likely need to pee every one to two hours. I can stretch to three if I feel I have no choice, but by hour two I am definitely feeling the pressure to go.
I work at Crapotle/Shitpotle however you wanna say it, and due to us having a skeleton crew from 2-4, I am usually running the line and register by myself. The constant movement can make my urge to pee so much worse, so I tried to go to the bathroom by 3pm to lessen the desperation.
Unfortunately this has earned the ire of the Apprentice Manager and I don’t understand why. Today after I used the bathroom when there were no customers and came back out to customers arriving — a three minute trip at best — he came at me very aggressively and demanded that my bathroom breaks stop. That I “know what I’m doing”, which is…what exactly? Peeing? Meanwhile my coworkers can take five to ten minute bathroom breaks and no one says a word. How is this fair?
I guess my question is this: can my manager force me to stop using the bathroom? Obviously he can’t force me to go the entire six to seven hour shift without *a* bathroom break or two, but can he stop me from going when I really do need to go? It’s bad enough that during deployment we’re not allowed to move for 2 and a half hours, but seriously, this seems excessive and targeted. I’m literally just peeing!
